Shop Summary:
As stated by other reviewers, the shop really is a work of art.

Customer Service:
I have been to FTR about 4 times now and every time I have walked through the doors I have been asked if I need. The guys know their stuff and will give you their honest opinions on gear.

Other Comments:
After having my bike worked on by other bike stores in Brisbane with less than satisfactory results, I can confidently say that FTR will be my new go to shop. I just picked my bike up from a service and it feels amazing.

Shop Summary:
Visually: "A Piece of Art" ... Nicely laid out, a lot of quality stock on display.
Workshop: N/A (I have never had my bike serviced)
Price: Reasonable
Customer Service: Excellent (see below)

Customer Service:
I recently bought some high-end components from FTR, and had a warranty failure on my first ride. This was not the fault of the shop, it was a component failure. Never-the-less, Tim sorted me out with a replacement on the spot, as he did not want me to be without a ride. That is great customer service, and I have now decided to move away from online ordering (I have spent thousands ordering from overseas within the last few years), and give my business to FTR.
Customer Service is of utmost importance to me, and I note what the some reviewers have posted about their negative experience, but so far I have only dealt with Liam & Tim and their service has been second to none.

Other Comments:
I recommend FTR to anyone after great service, quality products, and superior customer service. Yes, the prices are more than overseas/online, but if you are not on a shoestring budget, and want some good customer service, try them out.
... and since my latest purchase resulted in a warranty failure, I am very glad I didn't order from overseas, as FTR resolved the issue immediately!

Shop Summary:
FTR is the only mountain bike specific shop I've encountered Australia-wide. It's a very well-presented shop with lots of high-end bikes and bits on display. Brands include Santa Cruz, Pivot, Yeti, Intense and Lapierre. There is also a full range of Giant bikes for customers whose pockets are not so deep.

Customer Service:
A recent example probably sums up the excellent customer service. My Tune rear hub, purchased from the shop 18 months ago, failed. While attempting to get a warranty replacement, co-owner Tim got me back riding by taking a hub part from a wheelset of his own to covert another rear wheel I had from quick release to the 142x12 spacing I needed. I have never experienced anything remotely resembling rudeness or arrogance from the staff, who have been invariably polite, patient and helpful.

Other Comments:
The shop provides a comprehensive range of bikes, parts and accessories as well as an excellent workshop.

Shop Summary:
Fortheriders are one of the few dedicated mtb shops in Brisbane. They stock a full range of Giant and Santa Cruz as well as Niner, lapierre?, pivot and Yeti. Unlike most Brisbane bike shops they stock a lot of the high end and bling mtb parts, with prices to match. Ftr are definitely not the cheapest, and if you know what you want online stores are cheaper. They have a huge service section with at least 4 full time mechanics and they are always busy, they can do minor things while you wait but generally you have to wait a few days to get a service etc done. They also do bike set ups and have a 3D computer fitting service.

Customer Service:
Tim who is one of the owners is very experienced and friendly and he is the only one I will deal with when buying a bike, but Josh and Jesse are always very friendly and helpful especially with mechanical issues. Some of the other guys are a bit harder to deal with, but all the guys are very experienced riders and can sort out any problem.

Other Comments:
I have been using ftr for over 5 years after another bike shop , (who has since gone bust) who I bought a $6k bike off , refused to sort out a warranty issue I had. The guys at ftr took it up with the manufacturer and had it fixed for me. Since then I have bought several high end bikes from them and get all my bikes including my road bikes serviced and upgraded here. I haven't found a better shop in Brisbane yet.

Shop Summary:
Rad and happening shop with an unusually large amount of high end MTB frames, bikes and accessories . They actually keep stock of Santa Cruz, Intense and Yeti frames well as having a full stock of parts for builds which ranges from basic to bling. They also have a very high level of technical expertise for mechanical repairs with a well stocked work shop.

Customer Service:
Really mixed???!!!

The first few times I went in their shop I thought these guys really dont rate me as a customer. The first couple of guys I dealt with were pretty off handed and unhelpful. Regardless of the service I continued to go there simply because of my fascination of all the bling stuff. It wasnt to I was served by Tim (an owner) that I saw there willingness to really get stuff sorted.

Mostly, since then, Adam (head of sales) has dealt with most of my business because I am considered a bit of a pain in the butt. Very little seems to faze Adam and he isn't particularly into being nice but really likes to get things done right. He has often gone well beyond the what is expected in the realms of customer service and if something is purely his responsibility it will be sorted 100%. Unfortunately Adams is now moving on.

As for the rest of the crew, there have been many times when they have knocked them selves out to get something sorted and but oddly just as many times I have been disappointed, for example my bike been handed back to me (on the day and time I was told to pick it up) and with nothing done and no explanation given.

Other Comments:
The owners, Michael and Tim, have really strived to make "For The Riders" the best MTB bike shop in Australia. For the most part its a great shop but it seems that by trying to live up to such heady heights of idealism that some basic stuff like consistent service and procedure often goes south.
