Shop Summary:
Small but well equipped full service bike shop that stocks mid an d high end mountain and road bikes. Complete bikes or build your own..they have a great selection and staff to help you out.

Customer Service:
First rate. I was completely impressed with the efficiency of the staff and their knowledge of their products. I knew I was a noob in comparison to some of the guys who walked through the shop that day, but I sure didn't feel like it. I got a complete walk through on the bike I purchased, complete with a custom fitting. These guys know their stuff.

Other Comments:
I came from out of town to check out several bike shops the day I made my purchase. By far, this was the best one for personal service and selection. I upgraded a few components on the bike I purchased, which required a return trip (my own decision), and it was really impressive that they knew me by name when I walked in the next day. I don't know too many places that make you feel that welcome. I'd recommend Calgary Cycle to anyone, regardless of their skill level. These guys will do everything they can to make sure you're satisfied. I'll be back when it's time for a downhill rig.

Shop Summary:
By far the best high end bike shop in Calgary. Huge selection of high end gear as well as mid level stuff. Large selection of brands including complete bikes, frames and components. What you see in the store is a small fraction of what they have on hand...basically one of each size on the floor and multiples in different colors etc in wharehouses.

Customer Service:
Sales staff is great to deal with and have no problem making changes to stock bikes or quoting out a full custom build. They also tend to present alternatives to you from their full range of brands to let you make an informed choice. They are always willing to order in specific items that you are looking for if they happen to not have it on hand.

Service staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. Be aware that they are busy in the summer and you may have to book an appointment a bit ahead.

Other Comments:
My wife and I have purchased 14 bikes at CC over the last 8 years and never had a problem that wasn't taken care of immediately. Our first expereince was buying a last years model hardtail for commuter for my wife for about $700 and were treated great which brought us back for higher end stuff. We have purchased multiple santa cruz's, trek road bikes and now several blinged out Knolly's and everything has been handled professionally.

The below reviewer's coment about a poor selection of jerseys isn't surprising. CC is a bike shop, not a clothing store. They have a decent selection of good quality clothing but it's definitely not their focus. They do have a very good selection of helmets, shoes and protective gear however.

Shop Summary:
This is a small shop that could make better use of their space. They are practically a Santa Cruz specific shop and rarely have very little to actually look at (2 colours of jersey, only 3 sizes, etc). Unless you are walking to the service in the back be prepared to feel like you're in the way. The shop is very neat, feels quite new and caters to the FH crowd, although it isn't a good place to go if you're looking to impulse buy something cool.

Customer Service:
I was happy with the overhaul they did on my trail bike. The quality of work was good and the turnaround time was fair. The sales service is another story. The person I dealt with had strong views about what was best and really wasn't fair to all the bikes they sell (see above comment about being a Santa Cruz shop).

Other Comments:
I cannot see myself shopping there much and would not recommend them to a friend.

Shop Summary:
Calgary Cycle ("CC") is a small shop that specializes in high-end road and mountain bikes. As far as the MTB's go, (don't know much about road bikes) CC carries what most would consider to be the best available in North America including Yeti, Ibis, Trek, Santa Cruz, Devinci, Knolly and others. They also stock top end bike components and to my knowledge are one of the few shops in Calgary that are happy to sell framesets for those who prefer to complete their own builds.

Customer Service:
In my opinion CC offers the best customer service in the Calgary area. These guys know bikes. The owner and staff are genuinely more interested in biking and satisfied customers than they are in selling bikes. The techs are knowledgeable and very helpful. CC seems to be able to retain the best technical staff, unlike many businesses in Calgary these days. Must be a good place to work. In my case I purchased a frame (Yeti 575) and built it up myself. The techs encouraged me to call if I had any issues or problems with the build, gave it a thorough going over after I completed it, and fixed my f#$*-ups for no charge.

Other Comments:
If you are serious about purchasing a high end bike and want to ensure you get the best advice and after sales support, I really don't think there is a better shop in the Calgary area. A word of caution though - If you plan on dropping by on a Saturday, you might want to book an appointment.

Shop Summary:
Calgary Cycle is a small outlet but Big D carries a stock of popular items.

Customer Service:
While Calgary is growing and the labor market is straining to keep employees its nice to see a couple of familiar faces when you walk in the door year after year. Even better when they remember you by name! Give those boys and girls a raise big D!!

Other Comments:
Small shop and friendly atmosphere no pressure sales which is good for a noob !or a hard core rider. If you want to build your custom bike this is the place to go... Big D built my custom MTB and sold me a stock Road bike. In the not to distant future I will be building a custom road bike.... Look 585 perhaps, oh what the heck how about a 595!
