We love riding bikes. Mountain, road, commuting, multisport. For fun, fitness, competition, adrenaline, transportation, exploration and sometimes for therapy – biking provides all this and more. Riding a bike is good for your body, good for the whole family, and if substituted for a car once in a while, even good for your finances and for the environment.
We’ll try to make it easy for everyone from experts to newbies to kids to get whatever they need for their riding. To provide a simple, comfortable and efficient place with great service, fair prices, good advice, cool products… and did we mention great service?
We aim to support riding, riders and our community. We especially want to help kids and youth ride safely and ride more. To this end Different Bikes plans to contribute a fixed percentage of its pre-tax profits to local charities and organizations that support health, fitness, safety, and access.

Downhiller Shop Summary: The shop may be small in comparison to other bike shops in Vancouver, but their knowledge and friendly service blows the competition away. I live in Whistler and have access to several bike shops in town, but traveling to Different Bikes is worth it! And if they get special pricing on something they pass the savings on to the customer and don't try to make the extra buck. Customer Service: I have nothing but praise about their customer service. They know their stuff, and treat you like a friend. They fix what's broken, recommend what you need and don't try to upsell you just to make more money.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: These guys rock! I was looking for a shop that I could go to and get everything I need, somewhere where I could just drop my bike off and know they were gonna take real good care of it! These guys went above and beyond - super helpful, they carry loads of great gear and are more than willing to cut me a deal on stuff.
Customer Service: Like I said, these guys were really helpful. They tuned up my bike, made some great reccommendations for getting some parts fixed (that were in my best interest, but not necessarily theirs, i.e. they didn't really stand to make any money out of their reccommendations), and were just generally stellar in their approach to sorting out my bike for me. Other Comments: So long as I live here, I have no reason to ever go anywhere else.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: These guys are the new Rocky Mountain dealer in West Vancouver. I used to deal with Jeff when he was at Cove Bikes so it was nice to be able to continue buying Rocky Mountain from him in this new location. They are a small shop with the guys who own it right there in the shop, not hiding in an office in the back somewhere, so customer service is always delivered by someone with a vested interest in customer satisfaction. Customer Service: I bought a new Rocky from them in January (one of the first bikes sold through their doors) and had great service. They're speedy about getting new stuff or special orders in, and I've had great backup service on the new bike and I've had great assistance on parts warranty, even on my older Rocky bikes and components.
You never have to wait while a sales guy wanders off to ask the boss something, you're talking to the people that can give you the answers all the time. Other Comments: This shop is a bit like the "Cheers" of bike shops, they remember your face and name when walk in.
