Rage Cycles

Peter and the gang are top notch. Great to work with for sales, repair and just general info. Outstanding shop and vibe. Won't push you on the latest gadget and will often advise a less expensive part for YOUR needs. Very customer focused and not just sales driven.

Shop Summary:
My first impression of his shop was these guys know what is cool and the atmosphere gives you a sense that they are passionate about what they do. This is not your typical bike shop that only carries big name brands, and have limited mechanical experience. They have a "frame tree" that they stock with brands like titus, turner, yeti, salsa, ect., and are more then willing to cater to your riding style and budget. These guys specialize in building custom bikes that are meant to last. They offer everything from road, mountain, bmx and cruisers. The shop is very comforting and I can spend hours just checking out all the cool stuff they offer.

Customer Service:
Doesn't matter if you have a 10,000 dollar or 100 dollar bike, The rage crew will work on your bike like it was there own. they have an eye for detail and guarentee their work. Several times, they have sent broken parts back to companies for me and all I had to pay was labor and shipping. Thats money well spent IMO. These guys are the best in my book.

Other Comments:
Rage cycles is the coolest shop in the valley!!!! I know that my stuff is well taken care of and they try to work on a 24 hour turn around time if they can't fix it right then and there. I recommend to anyone that has problems with shops that have attitudes, poor mechanics, or promise but can't deliver, you will not find that at Rage cycles.

Shop Summary:
This is my go-to shop. All of the guys at Rage are awesome, super nice, knowledgable, and above all else, easy going - meaning they don't try to push sales on you at all. They have a great selection of tires (at least the tires I like: Maxxis, Kenda, WTB. Their selection of bikes is slim, but I think they work more on an order basis, which is fine with me, I'd rather order a bike in a certain color, or with a build that is specific to my wants/needs. Not being rude, but I don't know where this last reviewer got the "$4,000 bikes" thing. I've never seen a bike for that much in there - at least as far as their mountain bikes go. They have a decent selection of G. Fisher complete bikes, a couple used Titus and Turners, and a decent selection of Titus, Turner and Salsa. They also have road bikes and cruisers, but I've never spent any times looking at either. They also have some Fox shirts and shorts, which I like.

Customer Service:
Like I said, all of the guys that work that shop are great, I've never met an employee there that didn't A) remember my name if I had met them before B) go out of their way to find a product/price/info C) give me unbiased suggestions on what products that suite me.

Other Comments:
My one and only gripe about Rage is their prices on odd items. For example, I needed a post-mount adapter for a 185mm rotor and it ended up costing me $20 at their shop. Later I found out that Bicycle Showcase had one in the back of their shop, brand new for $10. On some high priced item I would say "hey, $10, no big deal," but that's twice the price from one shop to another. Their stocked equipment, or stuff they order on regular ocassions though is fair, nothing real inexpensive, but about the same price as any other shop in the metro area.

I'll be a long, loyal customer to Rage.

Shop Summary:
Small little shop on a busy road that you will miss the first time driving by. I know I did. Has as many bikes in the shop that can be crammed in, and has hard-tails, duals, and even BMX bikes. A neat little feature is the living room sized "test track" behind the store with mini jumps and bumps to get aquainted with your new (and expensive) friend.
THE place to go if you want to try a new brand, model, anything other than what you are riding.
I was making "the Transition" from road to mountain, so I went with an open mind, you should too.

Customer Service:
Great, although they tried to sell me last years model with (cosmetic) damage on the frame from a freak accident - earthquake/bomb raid/rogue bike falling onto the one below - for full price. He was kind enough to take a couple hundred bucks off "If I said anything" ... I said something. It was paint damage to the top of the frame, but still...
Offer a free tune-up for the first 30 days of ownership, which was nice, it's the small things in a LBS. Most definately has Local Shop feel.
I went to at least seven different shops to get what i wanted, and i went twice to each shop - at least. Second time I went to Rage, i was greeted by my first name, and a "hello, welcome back" ... either they all really liked me, thought i was sexy, or they smelled the sale. either way, it worked.

Other Comments:
One of those places where their competitors describe them as "One of those shops with non-name brand stuff, really expensive, they try to be cool, you know?"
I found that to be the case. Mostly. Not going to lie, but a lot of their bikes were quite expensive, at least for me - above $4000 - but they had more than enough in terms of what i was looking for. I searched far and wide for a decent priced Dual suspension for around 2 large, and had half a dozen to choose from, all of different brands.
They do not carry a lot of the big-name brands, which i think is nice, so dont go in there looking to buy a $500 trek. High-End, specialty seems to be their niche in the area, so go there after you have been to the other bigger shops. If you know what you like, the brand you want, and the $$$$ you wanna spend, go to wal-mart. That goes for fanboys, too.

I would have given them a 5 out of 5, but I take one point off for the failed attempt at selling me a damaged bike. Which I bought, for the adjusted price, btw... AND LOVE IT!

Shop Summary:
Excellent selection of bikes and frames along with a smart selection of parts and gear. If they don't have it, they can get it for you as fast as anyone. Turnaround time is great on repairs. Honest and straightforward shop.

Customer Service:
Rage stands above the rest. When I wanted to a custom build, they saved me hundreds on parts based on their recommendations compared to my proposed build. I could not be happier with my bike or their approach to the customer. They are well informed, eager to solicit advice and able to get what you are looking for if they don't happen to have it. Like a good LBS, I can pop in with a question, problem or looking for a part and they are immediately accommodating. My girlfriend recently bought a cruiser from them and Peter's enthusiasm made her feel right at home and confident that she was getting what she needed.

Other Comments:
They always have great music playing.

Shop Summary:
By far the best shop in town--worth the drive if you're not close by. The guys can fix or tune a bike in the time it takes other shops to write up a ticket!

Customer Service:
Amazing! Their commitment to customer satisfaction and getting things right, whether a sale, a service, or a quality issue (whether it's their product or not!) is the best in the industry.

Other Comments:
It took me a few years of trial and error with other local shops before I came upon Peter, Curley, and the rest of the RAGE staff, but now thankfully, I won't ever go to anyone else!
