Bike Shop Owners! We have a new feature we call the Rating Badge. The Rating Badge is a small graphic image (150x58 pixels) that displays your shop's rating and number of reviews on Mtbr.com. You can put it on your website and it allows all your customers to review your shop. It also gives new customers the reviews and validation they need to buy from you. Just cut and paste the HTML code found in the Rating Badge section of your review page. More details about the Rating Badge here»
Global Bikes

Global Bikes has been in the Vally of the Sun for over 6 years. They have two shops; one in Gilbert on the N/E corner of Gilbert and Gaudalupe and a new bigger shop on the S/E corner of ARizona Ave. and Pecos in the Super Walmart shopping center. Mainly a Specialized dealer stocking their full line-up. The Chandler store is also a S-Works dealer. Know for their Free Life Time Service policy that is included with every bicycle they sell. Really just good bike shops that carry all the essentials. www.globalbikes.net

Shop Summary:
I purchased a Specialized FSR XC from their shop in 2007 and received what I felt was a very fair price (It has also turned out to be a great bike). I have also enjoyed their free life-time tune-ups, which I use every three or four months, saving quite a bit of money. Their customer service is below average, but their mechanics do a very good job and they have a very good selection of products.

Customer Service:
Other than when I purchased my bike, the sales staff seems annoyed or disinterested in me if it does not seem I am in there for another big purchase. Going into their shop is pretty awkward and uncomfortable experience and I echo the used-car feel of their sales staff mentioned by other reviewers. On the plus side, their mechanics have generally done an excellent job with minor repairs and tune-ups, in addition to explaining potential problems I may have if certain maintenance issues aren't attended too. As a result, I tend to work mostly with the just the mechanics and shop for bike products elsewhere (on-line or at Performance Bike, where prices are generally much lower).

Other Comments:
I wish they had better customer service, because they are located close to my home and have good products and mechanics. The poor customer service is a big downer though, and it is only because of the free tune-ups that I keep going back.

Shop Summary:
Latest Parts and Bikes on display, Too Heavy in one Brand! "S". Very poor attitude towards the beginning cyclist. No wonder the average motorist is ignorant to cyclists, chasing new bee's away!.

Customer Service:
POOR POOR POOR. Sending something back myself to the manufacturer to save time is a cop out. I have been there more than once while traveling down to the valley to ride with friends, I have brought customers to their shop!. Staff could care less! They have an unfriendly elitist attitude. POOR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Other Comments:
Try and find a Ma and Pa shop if you are a beginner. If your broke down and no where else to go, then I guess your stuck! Global is truly a dinosaur waiting for extinction.

Shop Summary:
I have bought several parts from them, never really friendly. I have always got the feeling from them that I am wasting there time w/ questions.

Customer Service:
price point is the only thing that they have going for them. (sometimes)

Shop Summary:
I stop into Global Bikes every now and then and can say that I've always had solid experiences with them. Nothing over the top, but decent quality service and a fealing that they enjoy having me as a customer.

Customer Service:
I bought one of my bikes at Global (Jamis Dakar) They don't sell Jamis anymore but I still take in my bike for Tune's every few months. Service has been fine, no complaints. They got me and one of my other bikes out of a bind once when the other shop I go to couldn't, that was good.

Other Comments:
Global Has really grown. They used to be about the size of a small water and ice store. They are know about 8 times larger! It's good to see a LBS grow. I'm going to shop them for a pair of pedals this weekend who knows they might match performance.

Shop Summary:
Been to this shop a few times. They mostly support Specialized bikes. Not a huge fan of the shop I always get that used car dealership feeling everytime I stoped by there. Thats why I quit going. Customer service is sub par. I would recommend any other shop before I would recommend them.
