Bike Shop Owners! We have a new feature we call the Rating Badge. The Rating Badge is a small graphic image (150x58 pixels) that displays your shop's rating and number of reviews on Mtbr.com. You can put it on your website and it allows all your customers to review your shop. It also gives new customers the reviews and validation they need to buy from you. Just cut and paste the HTML code found in the Rating Badge section of your review page. More details about the Rating Badge here»

Shop Summary:
A great shop packed into a very small package. This tiny shop is kind of the nerve center of cycling in Prescott. Ed makes the shop what it is; he's a friendly, generous person who has 30 years in the bike biz and has befriended some of American cycling's most famous and/or notorious characters. He's fair with his prices and you can tell he loves nothing more than to see someone truly enjoy riding a bike he built, sold or wrenched on. Just a class act kinda guy.

Ed primarily focuses on stocking mid- to high-end products, though he will gladly order anything you need.

If I owned a bike shop, I would want it to be like Southwest Sounds & cyclery.

Customer Service:
Top notch. Ed's hours are screwy but that's because it's a one-man show and he puts the quality of his life above the profitability of his business... so if he feels burnt and wants to take a day to hit the trails or ride his moto, he will. He's generally around 8/9 AM until 2/4 PM, weekdays only.

You learn to call before you head over.

Shop Summary:
Small shop just past Whiskey Row in downtown Prescott.

Customer Service:
Very impressed with Ed's knowledge, customer service. I bought my Surly Karate Monkey frame here and had it built to my specs. So glad I went through his shop; I'll continue to do business in the future.

Other Comments:
Ed is the kind of solid dude that will go riding with you on the trails after he builds you an awesome 29er. It's refreshing doing business with good small business owners like this guy.

Shop Summary:
A very good, very small shop with very inconvenient hours.

Customer Service:
My experiences (with walk in service and ordering parts) have been excellent. No brain dead shop rats here. My orders were filled promptly, and the arrival times were accurate; I was kept in the loop (with calls) at all times.

Other Comments:
Only real downside here are the hours. Posted as 9-4, it is rare to find this place open past two. Not so good for those with a real job. Otherwise, an impressive selection of esoteric frames (ss soultcraft w/ Paul drops, Dos Niner, Monkey, 1x1) and parts for a place which is hardly bigger than my bathroom.
