Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: Great shop with a lot of stock to choose from. If they don't have it they will get it quick Customer Service: Customer service is good. Always helpful with trail knowledge and take the time to discuss component issues. If I need a wrench and don't feel like getting my head ripped off I always take it to the Pig for major overhauls. Other Comments: I'll be back. Great shop and the owner Eric is very personable.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: I heard about the Slippery Pig from a neighbor who was impressed that Slippery Pig had the parts in stock to do emergency repair of his bike. I checked out the shop and found that they had lots of mountain bikes. A lot of the bikes were 29”, including several 29” demo bikes that could be rented for a reasonable price. I started going there for parts and supplies for my 26” mountain bike. They usually had what I needed, and in some cases just gave me the part. Customer Service: I stopped at their shop several times just to look at their 29s. I was always asked if I need any help or had any questions. When I had questions, I found the employees and Erick, the owner, very knowledgeable. I finally rented one of their 29” demo bikes. (Most shops didn’t even have demo bikes.) It was a no hassle experience. The bike was ready to go when I arrived, and I dropped it off the next day. Other Comments: After the demo ride I knew the replacement for my 26”, with over 700 hours on it, was going to be a 29”. I looked at several bike shops, but I kept going back to the Slippery Pig. After determining the configuration to suit my needs, Erick ordered the bike on a verbal agreement. When I picked up the new bike, it was again a no hassle experience. Erick gave it to me for the price we had verbally agreed to and subtracted the demo bike rental. Having shopped around, I feel I got a lot of bike for the money. There was a minor factory issue with the bike, but the Slippery Pig fixed the bike in-between my every other day ride schedule with their parts, and dealt with the factory. I am very happy with my new bike and the service I received at Slippery Pig Bike Shop.

Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: Very few shops in the state muchless the valley can match the inventory of high end bikes. No matter what style of rider you are, you will find some kind of eye candy ready to roll. There are also lots of sexy little parts that you wont find at most other shops. That being said they seem to have a bike for most riders at many Differnt levels and price ranges. Customer Service: Here is the tricky part. I seem to have been lucky enough to have good experiances with the shop. I see lots of bad reviews and it makes me scratch my head. I have been to many shops in the valley and it seems all bike shops have the same kind of employees. They repair bikes and that doesn't mean you're a people person. If I have to choose between personality and bike knowledge I choose the latter. My advice would be, make sure you get a repair ticket with a date that states when your repair or sevice will be done. Other Comments: I live in the west valley and I drive past four other bike shops to get to The Slippery Pig. Some of those shops i wouldn't trust to put air in my tires.
I have been a customer of the shop for 10 years and have seen its employees come and go. The bottom line is Eric(the owner)seems to have a passion for cycling and bikes. He cares that you have a good experience on the bikes he sells and that you will return.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: Great selection of bikes, awful customer service Customer Service: terrible though that's not yet my final veredict Other Comments: It's interesting to read about what others had to say about this shop, since I have also experienced both decent and very, very bad customer service from this shop. I went to this shop to get a repair done on a rear shock of a scott bike and I spoke to Eric (the owner) he told me he called Scott bikes and that he was gonna place an order for the part that i needed for the repair on my bike, he said Scott was willing to treat this as a warranty claim. It turns out that after more than 10 weeks I still don't have my bike fixed since every time I go to the shop Eric tells me he is gonna speak to Scott to find out why the part has not yet arrived but after at least 5 visits to the bike shop and several phone calls the answer they give me is always "well find out from scott and call you back when we get the part" "it has not yet arrived" "well ask the scott representative when he comes to the shop" "I will call you tomorrow with an answer" "it's the holidays and we're super busy (in other words we can't help you right now)" or something along those lines but I never got a call back from them. I suspect Eric has just giving me the run around since last time I went to the shop I asked if they had any records of the part they order for my bike and they could not find any slip regarding my repair order. Eric offered me to remove the piece from another shock he had in the shop which turned out to be a badly beat up used shock that was going to be sent to the manufacturer for maintenence. Needless to say that's some really awful customer service. Now that being said I must point out that also spoke to a mechanic called Eliseo who was very polite and said he was gonna find out what was going on and who's gonna call me with an honest answer. Up to this point all I wanna know is whether they are gonna fix my bike or Not. If not I've been to other places where I've serviced my other bikes even If i have to pay more. Slippery Pig being a Scott dealer and being so close to my workplace are the reasons I thought I should have my bike fixed there, but after more than TWO months of such terrible customer service i can say that this is akin to dealing with a true SLIPPERY PIG only not as much fun!

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: Smallish shop with good selection of bikes, more so mountain bikes. Some big brand bikes like Kona, Fisher, Santa Cruz but also some boutique bikes like Moots, Voodoo, etc. Shop has a real mom and pop feel about it. Customer Service: Some of the best and worst service I have ever experienced. Owner Eric always provides great service. But some of his employees seem to have ADD. I walked in one time ready to buy a new 29er and that's their specialty. Right in the middle of the sale, the shop guy's cell phone rings. He answered what seemed to be a personal call and as you might guess, they lost that sale. I ended up dealing directly with a frame builder instead of buying from these guys. On the other hand, just this past week I went in to look at a new handlebar for the bike they would have otherwise sold me. Owner Eric helped me pick out a new one, fitted and installed it on my bike while I waited, and made me take a short ride to check it out. Superb experience. That's what I mean when I say "best and worst." Other Comments: For the past 8 years, I have really wanted to make this my LBS of choice since I live only two blocks from it. But the inconsistent service really gets in the way. Owner Eric really is great and knows what he is doing, but I think his employees don't do him any favors. I recommend this shop if you have time to wait for expert service and advice provided by Eric and if you aren't otherwise sensitive to quality of customer service. They have some bikes/frames at this shop that you can't find anywhere else in Phoenix under one roof.
