Bike Shop Owners! We have a new feature we call the Rating Badge. The Rating Badge is a small graphic image (150x58 pixels)
that displays your shop's rating and number of reviews on Mtbr.com. You can put it on your website and it allows all your
customers to review your shop. It also gives new customers the reviews and validation they need to buy from you. Just cut and paste the HTML
code found in the Rating Badge section of your review page. More details about the Rating Badge here»
Cactus Bikes
Cactus Bike was founded in 2003 to meet the demands of the downhill biking customer. Founded by Michael Bennett, Dave Anciaux and Brian Anciaux, this company quickly grew to two bike shops, a rental and guiding company, Cactus Adventures, and a thriving internet and ebay business.
Cactusbike.com has thousands of products from the top name brands in the cycling industry. If you are looking for a particular product that you do not find in these pages, rest assured we have it. Call us immediately and we will most certainly be able to get it for you in a timely manner.
Cactus Bike hires top quality mechanics who guarantee their work and who will gladly repair your bike for you or recommend the parts you may need to do it yourself if you wish. Because bikes are sometimes difficult to transport with the average family vehicle (and, frankly, who wants to anyway), Cactus Bike provides a delivery service. For a $10 delivery fee in most cases, Cactus Bike will come to your home, pick up the bike that needs repair, fix it, and return it to you. Typically, we can have someone at your house within 24 hours and your bike back to you within just a day or two. No hassle, no mess, no fuss - nice and easy - so you can get back on your bike. (Obviously, the fee to fix your bike is above and beyond the $10.)
We are currently carrying Giant, Jamis, Brodie, Transition, Haro, DK, Redline Monocogs (single speed mountain bikes), Sun Beach Cruisers, and now, Intense Cycles. We also carry many frames including Azonic, Banshee, and Foes. Stop in and check out our bikes, frames and parts. Our two locations currently are 4747 East Elliot Road, Phoenix, AZ 85044 and 1960 S Alma School Rd, Chandler, AZ 85248. Check the contact us page for detailed information.
We are extremely active in the bicycling industry promoting events and riders who are doing great things and progressing mountain biking. Our bike team, captained by Jeff Kuhn and co-sponsored by Brodie Bikes, has been doing great things. Check out all of the info at Cactus Bike Crew Downhill Mountain Bike Race Team.
We are also partnering with Sunrise Ski Resort to provide rental bikes and downhill racing at this great Arizona mountain location. See more info on the upcoming races at Race Entry Form.

Shop Summary: Excellent mechanics on hand. Competitive pricing if you know exactly what you want regarding parts and especially labor. Nice people that are willing to point you in the direction needed for your style of riding.
Customer Service: Very good, for every part that I have broken an affordable, DURABLE, replacement has been offered. The shop services an area of Phoenix that is saturated with trails, so if you are the last ticket in the repair stand it is only luck of the draw.
Other Comments: Prices may be cheaper online, but when labor and repairing the initial install attempt is considered, you will probably break even and have less of a headache if you visit Cactus to purchase parts that need to be installed. If the price difference is too insane for the shop to match, at least ask about all the parts that are needed before going to have them installed. It is common sense and our duty as INFORMED shoppers.

Shop Summary: I have received nothing but stellar experiences in my dealing with Cactus Bike. I am not on the payroll (as one reviewer suggested), but felt compelled to write after reading some of the comments here. The shop is sometimes busy, and frequented by some of the best riders out there
Customer Service: Fish, Fish and more Fish. I cannot think of anyone else that I have dealt with that has not been as friendly, helpful, and downright genuine as Fish. Another awesome guy in the 'tukee town shop is Steve-O, who also has been helpful when I've come into the shop just to buy a spare tube, or look at the balance bikes with my toddler in tow.
Other Comments: I use Cactus exclusively, and originally heard about them through word-of-mouth. I've never felt that they tried to sell me anything I didn't need, and I am always impressed with the technical expertise. I continue to recommend them to my friends and colleagues, and in my humble British opinion, they are the best Local Bike Shop in the valley.

Shop Summary: When you first walk into the shop it is like most shops. Lots of new bikes. Mostly BMX and cruisers (chandler shop). Not too much variety of Mt Bikes or components. While they can order anything you want (good luck getting what you want). Over all the Shop is plain.
Customer Service: SUCKS, SUCKS, SUCKS, did I mention it SUCKS.
In todays world to set your shop appart from others is Customer Service. The only good person at this shop is Tim, but he is so over worked that he can not always be there when needed. The rest of the crew doesn't talk amongst each other regarding customer orders/repairs, etc. While thier technical expertise is Avg at best, they will throw what ever is lying around. so bet VERY careful when picking up your bike that the right parts are on it that you ordered/requested.
The Ahuwatukee shop is the worst, that is if you can get the guys to pull themselves away from the TV and/or thier chating to help you. They are very arogant and talk down to every customer. (epecially Fish). I am amazed this shop can stay in business.
Other Comments: I am done with this shop, I used to be a very loyal customer, spending at least $1500 or more per year at the shop. But after this last incident where my bike was in the shop for 4 weeks (no customer follow-up, promises of I will call you back, etc, etc). The bike was never fixed, the part was on order or so they said. I picked up my bike took it to a compeditor and by the next day it was fixed and I was riding my bike again.
The part that Cactus said was broken was not the issue at all. The new shop found other issues caused by previous repairs, i.e. incorrect brake pads installed in Avid brakes, etc.
So now not only did Cactus loose a loyal customer, they now also lost good PR. Now I will be telling all of my friends, fellow Racers, and my web blog to NOT GO TO CACTUS BIKE.

Shop Summary: Here's the deal with Cactus. The employees are all riders and great guys. They're helpful, knowledgeable, and willing to take the time to share their immense knowledge. It's probably one of the only places I'd go to buy a mountain bike.
Customer Service: On the other hand, their customer service is really inefficient. In fact, most of the time it's down right slow. But, you don't go to Cactus to have a Wal-Mart experience. You go there knowing that it's going to take them a while to figure out that you want something. They'll talk about trails, bikes, setups, etc. They're second to none in that category. As for customer service as mentioned, they're just really inefficient.
Sometimes they get distracted by the newest DVD playing on the TV, or someone's cool bike, or another customer who walks in the door who they haven't seen for some time.
I've spent in excess of $5,000 there and once had the owner interrupt my conversation with an employee who was selling me an upgrade. The owner said, "Hey we got a customer up front". . . ? Anywhere else I would have told them to screw off. But, that's just how they are and it's part of the experience. Even so, these guys really do know there stuff. I guess I'd rather have them fumbling with the customer service but excellent with bike knowledge than the other way around.
Other Comments: Shop at Cactus. They know their stuff. But, lower your customer service expectations. I've shopped everywhere and believe that these guys are technically the best.
If at any time my experience is otherwise, I will certainly update my post.

Shop Summary: Rentals - Bike worked well and facilitation of the rental was quick.
Sales - I've bought a few things. MSRP (expected). not the best selection (small shop)
People - Hit and miss. I've had some fine encounters. However I think i once interrupted hang out time at the shop (unfortunately this colours my opinion perhaps more than it should).
Overall, I'd say its a decent shop. Not my favourite, but not as bad as some make it out to be.
