Shop Summary:
This shop is in Mesa, in a strip shopping center. It is relatively small with almost the entire floor and walls adorned with bikes and stuff we all need. They keep typical hours and have a fairly large service area in proportion to the retail size. This shop is a bit far from me and I literally drive past about ten bike shops to get to it, but I was in desperate need of a shop who gave a damn about me and my bike and had the expertise to work on my Santa Cruz Tall Boy. After so many bad experiences with Global Bikes, Performance, Landis and (now defunct) Cactus Bikes, I drove about 15 extra miles in search of a shop to call my own.

Customer Service:
I was greeted promptly upon entering the shop. The guy at the counter listened to what I was asking. I simply wanted a race tune-up for the Tour of the White Mountains 2012. I explained that I was leaving for the race in two days and my goal was to pick up my ride on the way out of town. This left little margin for error and I must admit I was apprehensive in making this arrangement with a shop with which I had little knowledge. The guy at the counter actually wrote down the details of my request on the tickets and I left. It was a smooth transaction and left with my claim tickets and he moved my bike into the service area. I received a phone call the morning of my day of departure telling me my bike was ready. I was thrilled! I picked up my ride and here were my impressions... 1) Bike was perfectly tuned. 2) One brake pad replaced. 3) Derailleurs perfectly tuned. 4) Tires had new Stans. 5) Bike frame and wheels and all non mechanical parts had been thoroughly cleaned - almost polished. I was blown away.

Other Comments:
In my opinion, the tune-up is a lost art. It has become an easy 80 bucks for almost every shop Ive used in five years and while I don't doubt other shops have the qualified wrenches to do a solid job, it is frustrating that nobody seemed to care enough. So much so that when I get my bike back usually there is always some tweaking I have left to do and that simply sucks. Not one other bike shop ever bathed my bike and left it as clean as it had been since brand new. Not one other bike shop ever left my ride in perfect riding/racing condition. There is a fine line between completing a job and doing it right. Adventure Bikes exceeded my every expectation and I will happily drive past those ten bike shops and make my way to MY new local bike shop where they not only know what the hell they are doing, but they seem to value going the extra mile and that, my friends, just doesn't happen very often any more.

Shop Summary:
I went there to buy my son a BMX bike, we ended up buying an Eastern, the very next day after set-up both tires were flat. When we returned it to the shop we got a run around and $64.00 later we had to pay for new tubes. Giving them the benefit of the doubt I brought this season's race bike to be assembled there on the recommendation of the guys at Pivot who said they were an authorized dealer. Needless to say from the beginning I was receiving that gut feeling they had little to no knowledge of Pivot's, (compatible parts), or high end MTB parts in general. Most questions I asked were answered with a confused gaze and a "I'm not sure". But the guys at Pivot have always been knowledgeable and I feel wouldn't lead me down a bad path.
It took well over a week to assemble and interestingly enough when I went to pick up the bike it had flat tires.."Oh it may take a while for the sealant to spread" so let me air it up.The next day as I went out for work, stan's sealant (Or a least that what I am assuming ) was leaking out of both tires, and they were flat again. So I called the shop and they began to give me the run around about tire compatibility and immediately started to up sale me for more money. I called Stan's gave them my wheel set/tire info and they stated that there should be no problems and the set up was more than likely done wrong. Went back in and what seems to be this young inexperienced kid (Maybe the owners son) immediately started to tell me that I needed to buy new tires and that it wouldn't work..so on and so on. I told him I called Stan's directly and he stated that they didn't know what they were talking about and can't be trusted...hmm..Stan's? He said he would put more air in the tires and that's it...I asked to speak to the owner who came out of the gates upset saying that I just wanted to be mad at someone and it's guys like me who run local bike shops out of business? Funny as with the bike purchase and set-up I spent upwards to $1000.00 in his shop in the last few months.. He then proceeded to say he wouldn't do anything and I said "Is this how you treat customers?" and with other customers looking at him in disbelief he back pedaled and said "Well uh I said I will try again"......I took the bike directly to another shop where the qualified mechanic immediately pointed out set-up mistakes.

Customer Service:
Horrible doesn't describe what these guys provide. Honestly they give Mountain Biking a bad name as they are obviously there just to make a dime and up sale unknowing customers!

Other Comments:
My bike basically has to be rebuilt correctly at a different shop so I am still without it. Forks are rigged on the bike with the wrong adapter Derailleur cables are the cheapest on the market but priced as high end. Front derailleur is adjusted wrong and that was just with the quick once over who knows what else! If I took the bike out on the trails it could have been a dangerous day. At over 350.00 charge you would think I would be on the trails (But in this case lucky Im not!)...These guys are TRULY INEXPERIENCED- Beware.

Shop Summary:
I've been looking at bikes for about a year and was disappointed with all the bike shops I'd been to. It seems they were only geared toward hard core bike enthusiasts and not to someone who was just looking into getting a beach cruiser to ride around town. Adventure Bike was the best shop by far! They were encouraging and patient and answered all of my questions (no matter how obvious or silly). I went right back in the next day and bought a fantastic cruiser. And it didn't matter which of their employees was waiting on me or checking in with me - they were all very courteous and helpful. I absolutely LOVE my new bike - it was the perfect fit for me. I would highly recommend their shop to anyone! :-)

Shop Summary:
Store its self its awesome, filled to the brim with everything about Bikes!

Customer Service:
I went in to order a replacement hanger for my bike, and was taken care of immediately after the current employee was done helping out another. However His attitude and tone were quite different from when he talked to the previous customer, as if he wanted me out of the shop and was dreaded to assist me. He did order the part promptly and said it was to be in the next day or day after but arrived 4 days later and it was the wrong hanger. i overheard them talk of attending a Test ride for Trek, could this have been why the order was delayed. Anyway i walked in again to tell him it was the wrong part and stood at the front register for 2 mins before anyone even acknowledged me. Bottom line is that the shop is cool looking and it looks like they might do some fine repairs but customer service toward me was awful. i was treated as a nuisance or pest. Is this because i weigh 260 and am 6', idk but ill try and avoid that shop. Still waiting on the right hanger to come in after reordering it 4 days ago.

----My previous review is above----
Went in yet again to order another hanger for my bike and made sure this time to identify the appropriate hanger so as to not wait 2 weeks to ride! In hindsight, My prior complications were mostly my fault because i failed to show them my original hanger; on my recent visit however, the shop associate whom helped me asked to see my original hanger which the employee upon my first visit to order a hanger failed to ask. Anyway i ordered the part and browsed the endless amount of bike stuff in the shop for awhile. While tallying up my wish list, i was approached by the shop's owner, Bill, whom had heard about my previous troubles with ordering hangers in his shop and asked if i had written the above review. Bill expressed a sincere apology for the issues i faced previously and hoped this time around to not make that mistake again. I accepted his apology graciously and promised to respond to my previous review more positively.
I think i speak for everyone on here in saying Thanks Bill ,and other dedicated owners, for taking the time to read our concerns and compliments about your shops and adhering to the feedback. I hereby change my prior ratings to: 5 ,Thanks for making my visit meaningful. I think ill bring my 10 year old brother by the shop soon to see how he fits on the trek 820.

Sincerly,
Jake Tapaha

Shop Summary:
Excellent shop, good location in Gilbert, well stocked with a variety of road, mountain, and cruiser bikes, as well as parts and supplies. If they don't have the bike in stock you want, they will get it for you.

Customer Service:
Customer service is second to none. Bill and Paul allow a customer to take their time to check out all the bikes and test ride any of their stock and most important answer all questions. I visited other shops, but always came back to Adventure. I went back four times, test rode twice and then purchased three bikes from Paul (Wife, Daughter, & myself).

Other Comments:
Do yourself a favor and go see Bill, Paul, or any of the staff at Adventure, you won't be disappointed.
