Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: The shop in East End is an unusual find, since it is mostly flat country. The main bikes found are all mountain and lower end bikes. Even so, they are not bikes you will find in Wal-Mart: GT, Scott, and upper end Mongoose. The store is different from most other shops around the LR area mainly because of the Outskirts service van. That's a huge help if you are getting a repair or tune done but don't want to drive out to East End. UPDATE: Outskirts has another location in Bryant, just up from Ashley's Furniture! This new store has more flair than the original East End location. The service is still superb! I was in the store today and Herman was even working on a Trek road bike! Yes, he will service any bicycle, even if he doesn't sell it! Customer Service: Unexpected in this part of Arkansas, especially around the Little Rock Metro area. This was the only store I could find a GT bike in the LR area. I bought the iDrive 4 3.0 last year to train/race w/ for my first triathlon. Not only was I impressed w/ how the bike was so forgiving for a newbie like me, but I was even more impressed by the service I received from Herman Martin, the owner of the shop. He would bring his shop van to Burns Park where I trained and ride w/ me and take my bike back to the shop and tune or repair it, if needed, . He would also invite other riders to join. He was even there on race day at the Dawg Dayz tri for me to give my bike a last minute tune. Now we have a group that meets at least every two weeks to ride. He will take other rider's bikes back to the shop, tune/repair them, and bring them back to our favorite ride spots ready to go the next time we ride. Now that's service! Other Comments: I have been really impressed w/ the dedication to offering customer service Herman has displayed. I don't know much about the other stores in LR, but the service I have received is way beyond what I expected. I test rode bikes in the parking lots of the other bike stores under an employee's watchful eye. Herman let me borrow his personal GT iDrive and his Avalanche so I could see the difference between a hardtail and a full suspension all-mountain bike. The last bike I had was a Huffy twenty five plus years ago. He took the time to answer gobs of questions I had. After all, it's not everyday you go out and spend $1,000 for a bike plus the gear, etc. And I had gear questions! He was patient, though, and that's why he got my business.
