Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: Footloose says they’re the best bike shop in Mammoth and they are. Seemingly conventional with loads of Specialized and Trek stuff around they can do just about anything – keep asking. Ask about trade-up take off parts, swaps, etc. Tons of try out bikes, rentals, etc. Anything especially vexing ask for Matt.
For those who don’t know Mammoth Lakes is probably located in the single best area for big time and SAFE road riding in the USA. The huge plus here is you are at altitude. Mammoth goes from 8000’ on up.
Customer Service: IMO Footloose’s specialty is merchandising. They probably have the best trained sales staff of any store anywhere. They send tons of people to InterBike etc.
When the place turns back to a ski shop Glen, their top mechanic, will work on your stuff at home so you can still do double centuries in Death Valley in November. Other Comments: The only bad thing they ever did was loan me a Blur for a day at the ski area so when I got back I took my Klein hardtail to the thrift shop and can’t ride anything but good stuff anymore.
