Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: I've been going to this shop for WELL over 20 years. I purchased a Fat Chance Yo Eddy from them in 1991; a Fat Chance Slim Chance in 1992 (Custom ordered and built up with custom parts); And a multitude of BMX, MTB, Road Bikes, Components and tons and tons of service from them over the years. Their brands are great. They always have plenty of stock. Customer Service: I've read some of the other reviews here. I understand where you are all coming from. However, in the last two years, the management has focused on providing superior customer service at all levels. Those of you who have given negative reviews should make a point to go back in. Don't be afraid to voice your complaints to the management there, they have done a great job with regard to building on their criticism.
The Mechanics here are top notch and willing to work with you. I'm difficult because I'm a "wrencher" myself, but they will work with me when I've broken something to get it fixed back up. They are always willing to work on a bike regardless of where you purchased it and will treat it, and you, as if you had purchased it there. Other Comments: NPBS has a great web-site as well where they offer all kinds of specials: http://npbikeshop.com

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: Shop itself is nice--the comments of the other reviewers describe it well. It is well stocked both in bikes as well as accessories. Customer Service: If you get the young guy-the customer service experience is not bad, he seems nice, will spend the time and work with you to get your needs. The other, older guy (I think he is the owner) is...well...obnoxious. I can't seem to get a straight answer from him, ever. The other reviewer said it best--that I dont want to feel like I am in a pressure-filled sales approach in a car dealership. I know not all LBS's will spend time answering questions but if you live in the area, and want more than some attitude--go to the Westlake Cyclery instead.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: Great shop, great selection. Can be very busy on the weekends so be patient or go during the week. The owners are always there and Shane is great. Service times can be up to a week turn around but its worth the wait. bikes range from $100.00 to $20,000.00 and everything in between. Alot of young staff and even more with 10+ years of experience. Customer Service: Great.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: This shop has a large inventory of bikes and other products. It has one of the nicer showrooms around Ventura County. They carry Cannondale, Giant, Titus and a few other brands. Customer Service: I would say customer service here is very poor due to their terrible business ethic. They will try to sell you a bike at any cost including making grossly inflated claims which boarder on outright lies. Their sales tactics include telling your bike is obsolete (my bike has older shimano parts but in no way are they obsolete). I also had another salesman tell me that my Lefty would cost approximately $800-$1,000 to service and it was not worth servicing. Instead he suggested I buy a new bike. Funny thing is I talked to a service technician at Cannondale and he told me it would cost about $200. At this shop they really seem to assume customers are ill informed and look to take advantage of that.
In addition I found the employees to be either young and not very knowledgable or knowledgable but either snobby or very helpful if they think they could sell you a new bike that very day. When I go to a bike shop I don't want to feel like I'm at a car dealership.
If I didn't have a Cannondale I would never step foot into this place again. The next time anything Cannondale specific (Lefty) needs servicing I think I'll send it in directly to Cannondale or try another bike shop. Other Comments: If you're in the Ventura County area look for another bike shop with employees who are honest and try to provide good customer service.

Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: Large shope with several staff. Seemingly always busy with many local high-end owners in for service. Customer Service: Hit or miss. There are a few curmudgeos with inflated egos and seriously cranky condescention behind every word they speak. Find a young guy enthusiastic about bikes that doesn't make you feel as though your blessed to speak to them. Other Comments: Not very happy with service done on mountain bike. Had to go back twice after an expensive overhaul and have them re-fix some very fundamental mistakes they overlooked the first and second time.
