Shop Summary:
Large floor space with a large selection of bikes to chose from.

Customer Service:
That's where the shop falls short. I felt as though I was bothering the staff when I asked a question. My experience there did not make me want to get a bike and ride off to my nearest trail. It was a real buzz-Kill.

Shop Summary:
A sale brought me in there to buy a Specialized Carbon Enduro. The money I saved on the bike was not worth the hassle: bad customer service, bad shop service, and bad communication. Everyone there seems to hate their job. Even Performance bike shop offers a better experience than Mike's Bikes.

Customer Service:
The general manager was unresponsive until I got in contact with the owners. Service manager was unhelpful and my bike was damaged in their shop during a routine service. Other services were incomplete and slow. Even purchasing the bike was an issue; I had to pursue them, not the other way around.

Issues must be from the top down; owners only seemed to be helpful initially. Spoke on the phone a couple times with one of the owners; ultimately he let me down, just like his shop.

Other Comments:
Even before I bought my enduro from Mike's Bikes I had more than one rider recommend against it. I just moved back into their area and wanted them to be my shop. They have no passion about bikes, their jobs, or their shop and it shows.

STAY AWAY!

Shop Summary:
Good shop, good selection of bikes, excellent deals when you can catch them, i got over $700 off on my stumpy fsr. the sales people are fairly helpful, the mechanics are good and helpful. i bought the 5 year service plan and havent had a problem using it yet.

Customer Service:
their customer service is good, id say a solid B. i would give them something higher, but they arent quite on the level of totally helpful...very knowlegeable, just not totally helpful.

Other Comments:
i will continue to be a long time customer of mikes bikes in PA and i live in santa clara, that tells ya something about how much I value the shop.

Shop Summary:
Avoid at all costs!!! Not even worth the Sale prices in the long run!

Customer Service:
by far some of the worst customer service i've ever experienced. the staff for the most part stands around waiting for you to ask a question rather than approaching you, and when you do have a question it seems like you're twisting their arm for help.

their service department is just as bad, taking ridiculous time to assemble bikes or perform routine service

Other Comments:
Ben is particularly rude and generally useless as far as getting help is concerned.

Shop Summary:
After moving back up to Palo Alto from San Jose I was looking for a good "LBS" that I could be loyal to. I had been rather spoiled with the great service/knowledge/attitude at Trail Head so Mike's Bikes had a lot to live up to. I was also looking for a new ride. I ended up with a killer deal on an 08' Enduro SL Carbon. The young guy (Ben) I ended up buying the bike from was great. Every time I would come in and look at all the bike porn he has close by and answered all my questions and was candid about '07 shock problems. I ended up buying the $95 5 year service plan and have broken my bike twice and brought it in for service w/no problems.

Customer Service:
I gave these guys a 4/5 for customer service only for a minor problem I initially had with a loaner bike I wanted to try out. However, Kenny, the service manager, (who always seems super busy) always took time with me explained his experience w/sram, or the tuning the Enduro suspension, or whatever. Vee the manager is also a good guy, very helpful.

Other Comments:
Mike's Bikes is a chain store that is trying it best to have a LBS feel. Although they do have some high end XTR equipped bikes they also sell kids bikes. I think what I am trying to say is that if you are going to drop $2-4k on a ride then bug Vee, Ben or Kenny; if you want to get a little hotrock for your kid then go to one of the other guys/girls over there, I don't want my 3 guys to busy to be bugged by me.
