Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: lots of great mountain biking components and stuff to get you back on the bike quickly. Customer Service: always helpful and contactable and responsive via email Other Comments: I love that I can email them and actually get a reply and get my order sorted out by email and pop in to pick it up.
wish they opened 1 hour later at night (just one night a week?)

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: From the moment I saw the shop from the outside, I felt that they were very professional. The way they arranged the bikes also appealed to me. They seemed to have stocked everything in the right place so that I didn't have to look all around for something that I needed. The shop is clean and uncluttered even though there's always a big, cute and freindly dog behind the counter. The dog makes for more comfortable atmosphere. Customer Service: John and Lindsay helped me with the purchase of my bike and they helped me in so many other ways. They also gave me a lot ofH good advice. John carefully described important bicycle-related concepts and facts that I wasn't aware of. He also made me aware of so many potential mistakes and problems that can occur when riding a mountain bike. The mistakes and problems might have hindered my enjoyment and safety if he hadn't made me aware of them. Another Bike Shop isn't just there to make a profit, they really care about the customer and customer satistfaction is at a premium. I always felt comfortable talking to John and even calling him up for any question or problem that I had. He never seemed too busy or disinterested to help me. I had several choices of buying a bike at other shops but I'm glad that I chose Another Bike Shop. John went beyond just selling me a bike and answering questions. Because of his help and the shop's caring attitude, I feel that this has been one of the best purchases in my life compared to all other major purchases I have made in the past like buying a car and motorcycle. Other Comments: There's an almost laid-back attitude and friendly atmosphere. I never felt pressured. It seems that the staff knows when to help you and when to just leave you alone. They're not intrusive and they don't pressure you to buy anything; they respect your space. They also follow up on their promises and they seem to know all the technical stuff related to mountain biking. I think their attitude and knowledge is based on the fact that they also enjoy mountain biking themselves. John and Lindsay were able to explain really technical stuff in a very understable and simplified manner. Another Bike Shop is truly another bike shop and their name fits the shop's philosophy and attitude.

Downhiller Shop Summary: This shop is the sh1t. I almost never have to special order anything, they carry a lot of products. Walk right in and you can have a custom built bike in one day. I have bought 2 bikes and have had great service. Buy a bike and get like ~20% off everything in the store for a month or so.If you ride bikes really fast this is the shop for you, if you are slow or a geek just buy online like you normally do. Customer Service: Great, have danny build your wheels. they will last for years. Other Comments: it is not just another bike shop

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: This is the best mountain bike store out there they have every thing you need when you need it and if they dont have it in stock which is usaully rare they will get it for you with in a week ..I have been to many bike shops in the area and by far they are the best at the mountain bike world .I have bought a few bikes from them from superlights to blurs and I have bought 2 turners from them they know there stuff when it came to how the different types full suspension bikes work and set up .I was pleased at the attention I get when I go there Everyone is always on there toes and busy ..Quick to ask how I am doing .from what I have seen they have a passion for riding and have the best prices in town with the best service in town Customer Service: The customer service is great .I dont know what that other guy is saying but When I first walk in to the door everyone is quick to ask how I am doing and if I had any ques then ask away no pressure sales and they dont try to up sell you on something you dont need .Yes they are small but they have every thing you need . Other Comments: The best mountain bike shop around..Oh and to the nomad guy They did have issues with the pivots from what I understand. The XL and the SM frames were not released till later because of pivot issues I know because I waited for 8 months for an XL and then ended up getting a Turner six-pack which I was glad I did or I would have been waiting for ever and then I just bought a 5-spot from them a few months back ...ABS Rocks thank you guys for such great service

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: These guys carry a lot of "product", both bikes and accessories. The previous reviewer knocked them for having too much stuff in their shop. I'd rather be in close quarters and have stuff in all the sizes or models to choose from.
The shop focuses on mountain bikes, and that's it, although they have a few kids bikes and the occasional stray cross bike. Customer Service: Low key and pretty variable. Dave and Chris, the owners, are great. All of the staff ride, but some are lacking in customer service skills. I've had great sales floor help and informative help at the service counter; then other times I've run into kids working their first job who don't know what to say.
Service seems better during the week. I think the rookies get the weekend shifts. Other Comments: Extreme west end of Santa Cruz (north end on the coast highway) by New Leaf Market. Very convenient stop near Wilder Ranch.
