Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: I discovered this shop one morning after dropping my wife off at the pregnant yoga class over on Judah. So I went by the shop once every few weeks for months and was super surprised at how such a small shop could be run so flawlessly.
When I decided to build my dream bike with some stuff I already had, Chris had no problem helping me out. It took about 3 weeks, 15 emails and a few phone calls, but everyone at the shop was super helpful and patient with all my questions.
Pound for Pound the best bike shop in the Bay Area….
Other Comments: The shop may be moving to bigger digs but man do I hope they maintain that same intimacy.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: small shop off the beaten track with a great array of Demo Bikes running top spec parts. Customer Service:
Was in town working from Australia and wanted to ride some single track on a day off. for only $50 Chris set me up with a demo bike and spent longer on bike fit and suspension set up than another shop did when i purchased a road bike.
he had trail maps availble for purchase and spent time showing me which trails to ride. i found the shop was staffed by generous open and friendly staff.
wish it was my local shop

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: Cool little shop with a real neighborhood bike club feel. Customer Service: Top notch service from everyone in the shop, whether you are buying lube or a whole bike. Other Comments: Seven years ago, when this shop opened, I was building up a bike (SC Superlight) and needed help with the headset installation. I was fully prepared to pay whatever shop rates applied to doing the work, having bought the various pieces elsewhere. But Chris installed it at no charge and even ordered a replacement part that I had managed to destroy in my previously failed effort...at no charge to me! The service has remained at the same exemplary level as my original experience. Since that original visit, I have bought my last three bikes at the Mouse (most recently replacing that Superlight with a Mach 5).

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: Like some of the best Chinese restaurants you will ever come across, this is an unassuming hole in the wall of a shop. But the ingredients are top notch, and the chefs in the kitchen really know their stuff. Customer Service: Second to none. Having been totally underwhelmed by many SF and Marin shops, I found this place in 2006 and now would not take my bikes anywhere else. The mechanics are excellent (Charlie in particular) and the prices always reasonable. They have helped me out of binds many times. Best bike shop in the Bay area hands down.
