Bike Shop Owners! We have a new feature we call the Rating Badge. The Rating Badge is a small graphic image (150x58 pixels) that displays your shop's rating and number of reviews on Mtbr.com. You can put it on your website and it allows all your customers to review your shop. It also gives new customers the reviews and validation they need to buy from you. Just cut and paste the HTML code found in the Rating Badge section of your review page. More details about the Rating Badge here»
Adams Avenue Bicycles

A small shop with a comfortable atmosphere and a well stocked fridge. Well known as single speed and fixed gear central of San Diego. The complete opposite of the typical "bicycle superstore" that has become so common in our city. Expect good service, honest answers and a cold beer when you visit. "Feel the love!"

Shop Summary:
A true neighborhood hang out shop. There is a very good vibe here and customers tend to feel more like friends. Good selection of parts and accessories from utilitarian to bling bling. Whatever your budget, Adams seems to be able to make it happen. The shop is not over packed with merchandise, ensuring that a visitor will never be overwhelmed.

Customer Service:
The shop can go from quiet to busy in less time than it takes to fix a flat. It is not uncommon for the staff to open the doors an hour or more early for someone who might need a tube or a quick repair to save the day. Most of the staff are mechanics also, so getting things right on your bike is pretty easy.

Other Comments:
A Thursday night mountain bike ride leaves from the shop at about 630 most weeks. Call to make sure its on. Count on a fun, fast hour or so ride in Florida Canyon or a road trip to one of the area's many destination spots.

Shop Summary:
I agree with the other review. A good neighborhood shop. The owner Andrew is a solid guy and sponsors local rides and is often handing out primes at the velodrome. Good guy and a great shop.

Customer Service:
This shop is going to work hard to make you happy. They won't sell you stuff or repairs you don't need, and can figure out a solution to just about any problem. However when I have walked in I typically haven't been greeted most times, and a couple times I've had to squeeze my way through a thicket of wannabe bike-messenger types that seem to have nothing better to do than hang out here. I would rate it a 5 on customer service if it weren't for the couple times I have walked in and been unable to get help for 10 or 15 minutes.

Other Comments:
This is my favorite shop for interesting gear, a local vibe and an owner than is actually interested in the community - pretty rare these days. The laid-back attitude can be frustrating if you're in a hurry though.

Shop Summary:
Laid back, good energy, friendly and knowledgeable crew.

Customer Service:
Easily the best bicycle store in San Diego. I take all of my bikes here for service, and have been very happy with them. Their mechanics are excellent, and know what they're doing. They are also one of the few dealers that carry Bianchi! All in all they are just AWSOME!
