Absolute Bikes is a full-service bike shop offering high-quality repairs, sales, rentals, trail information, and a large supply of parts and accessories. Absolute also is proud to be one of the first and strongest promoters of the 29" wheel, stocks lots of bigwheel bikes, and offers bigwheels for demo. The shop also is a strong voice for local advocacy, supporting trail building and maintenance efforts, local racing and other cycling events. They sell complete bikes, have high-end demos, and can work with customers who wish to order custom or high-end bikes built complete from a frameset.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: In two words, I describe Absolute Bikes as GENUINE & PASSIONATE. All too often, today's business model pushes a company to focus on increased sales and increased profit. Fair enough, as we choose to live in a free market society, but it is refreshing that in my first contact with Absolute Bikes, 'the sale' seems secondary to providing opportunity to good people with shared passions, a genuine concern for the environment and community, and a commitment to service regardless of profit. That's Absolute Bikes! Customer Service: Unparalleled knowledge and expertise well beyond the products they carry! Interestingly enough, two individuals I spoke with had completely different approaches. One was the silent type that only revealed his wealth of knowlege when prompted. The other was far more eager to impress upon you the kind of wisdom that only comes from someone impassioned and immersed in the rapidly evolving industry. Other Comments: If there is a Masters program in bicycalology, it is taught at Absolute Bikes. More importantly, this shop yields results through focusing on the indirect synergies of sincere involvement with the community, its staff, and the environment that provides all of us with a limitless playground. Why else do I intend to drive the two hours from Breckenridge, when the shops here are competent, friendly and superior to most of the Denver stores...

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: These folks ought to be business model for all bike shop. Yet, not everyone can reproduce their passion for bikes and their sincere efforts to make your stay in Salida enjoyable. I have been to many shops with the same old stuff but Absolute Bikes has a very cool inventory. Think every time I have been there I made a purchase. Customer Service: What else can be said, WOW! Staff have great atitudes..... Other Comments: Just a commentary, many highend shops come with staff that protray their elitist attitude. If want to know what I am talking about go to Turin Bikes in Denver. I just waiting for someone to start a thread on Turin. Sidebar aside, The cool people at Absolute Bikes make this one the best bike shops anywhere.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: Everything that the two previous reviewers state is true and I agree on all counts. With a top notch staff, a passion and an unending enthusiasm for all things cycling, Absolute scores big points with me. Customer Service: I can't tell you how many times that I've witnessed excellent customer service. Every customer is promptly and courteously attended to. All sorts of riders and bikes march through the shop in a steady stream and each one's unique requirements are fulfilled.
The staff is very knowledgeable about bikes, the local riding scene and the community in general. They will patiently answer questions they've been asked a thousand times and love to show people the local trails on the maps that they themselves have created. Other Comments: None better!

Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: This shop overall for a smaller shop is big on selection from high end to low end bikes, wide selection of tires, clothing, and other accessories, but what stands out is the customer service and just whole hearted love for cycling that shows in all of the people there (they'll even give support to out of towners that accidentally cross the wrong dam get busted by the dam police!). It's also the place to go to find out the best local rides and eats. If you're in Salida this is a must see shop, even if to just drop in and say Hi. Customer Service: Top notch A+ & very knowledgeable.

Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: On the second ride of a 2 week bike trip my rear derailleur hanger snapped, derailleur went into the wheel, and the result was a trashed wheel, broken derailleur hanger, and broken derailleur.
I went into Absolute Bikes at 4:00pm, and my bike was in perfect working order at 6:00pm.
I found the mechanic on duty to be top notch. He even went out of his way to completely go over my bike, and found several small issues that that he corrected that would have quickly become larger issues.
Customer Service: Top notch customer service. Exceptionally friendly and highly competent describes the people I dealt with while on vacation.
I just wish Colorado Springs had a shop this good.
