Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: Vecchio's, a small, service oriented shop, carries a mid- to high-end (mostly road) bikes. A couple of years ago, I'd just started shopping for a new road bike and was interested in checking out a Moots. I told Jim I was looking for a new bike and his first comment was, "Pull up a stool and tell me what kind of riding you do." After a fairly lengthy Q&A, he showed me 4 or 5 different frames ranging from several hundred to several thousand dollars. Over the course of several additional visits, Jim, Peter and Sean provided great, common-sense advice and often steered me toward lower cost options that simply made more sense for me. I ended up buying a custom (65cm) Moots Vamoots with Campy components and couldn't be happier with my ride or with Vecchio's. Customer Service: Customer service has been very good. Vecchio's prides themselves on service and offers free life-time adjustments and a full-on, annual tune-up. They're also very cool about handling quick drop-in adjustments. Many of the other shops around offer just a post break-in adjustment and one annual tune-up. Vecchio's policy is much stonger and was a big factor in my buying decision.
I recently demo'ed a new mountain bike and the process couldn't have been more painless.
Finally, they're very responsive getting back when you leave a voicemail or email with a question. Other Comments: I can't say enough good things about Vecchio's. They're not for everyone and, as mentioned above, cater to the higher-end roadie, but for those in that group, they're an outstanding choice. We've got a ton of very good bike shops in the Boulder area, but these guys are right at the top.
