About Redstone Cyclery

Redstone Cyclery was founded late in 2003 in the beautiful, cozy little town of Lyons, Colorado. Lyons and the northern Rockies foothills have a great local scene of both hardcore and recreational cyclists. Locally owned and operated, Redstone Cyclery was born of a true passion for cycling and a love for the local community. Combining those two passions, advocacy is a major focus of what we do. As cyclists, we are constantly struggling to maintain our rights and to broaden our access. A lot of shops talk about advocacy, but lip service doesn't get us more places to ride. We are an IMBA dealer member and are very politically active in the Northern Foothills area. I am also personally on the Lyons Pathways Commission to work to make Lyons a more bike friendly town. Check out our Advocacy Page to see the latest of what's going on.

Although the crew here loves mountain bike cross country and trail riding, we spend a lot of our time on the road as well. Redstone is a bike riders bike shop. If it has two wheels and pedals, we're pretty happy about riding it.. Our customers appreciate the fact that we ride what we sell. Years of bike shop experience, bicycle industry experience, and bike racing at the highest levels has taught us what works and what doesn't. We're here to help you find what works for you. We also know the surrounding area better than anyone - roads and trails. Any picture you find on this website has been snapped in the general Lyons area by Redstone. If you're looking for a quick spin around town, a nice rolling road ride, or an epic mission in the mountains on the road or on dirt, you've come to the right place.

Shop Summary:
In January 2011 the shop relocated to 355 Main St Lyons just down the street from the old location. The new shop is much larger and better able to accommodate the needs of area cyclist. Great vibe when you walk thru the door.

Customer Service:
Customer Service is second to none. If you go in you will be pleasantly surprised by the good vibe. If you come in looking for advice or expert local trail recommendations that’s not a problem, there’s no high pressure sales’ going on here. When you buy something or get work done by the 5 star wrench and owner Dave Chase you’ll become a satisfied customer for life. Dave has the passion and is living the bike store dream.

Other Comments:
The shop is always giving back. A couple of examples are; the store’s Tuesday night riders who on occasion don’t ride but instead pitch in to help with area trail work; and Dave who after normal business hours, stay’s late and gives a FREE maintenance class to the Boulder Mountain Bike Alliance bike patrol. His commitment and dedication is awesome.

Shop Summary:
The shop is small, but big enough to do what has to be done in a MTB shop. Dave has a passion for Mountain bike riding that he shares easily. He will do anything he can to help you enjoy the sport. I have seen him take parts off of his personal bike to help someone get on the trail that day. If he orders parts on Tues. or Wed. you will have them by Fri. of the same week. He has the best trail knowledge of any person I have ever met. He is like a living trail map. If you like or love Mountain biking you owe it to yourself to visit his shop. You won't be disappointed.

Customer Service:
His customer service is his best quality. I needed to get a new fork in June of 2010. I went to the shop on Tuesday to order it and he got it in Friday. He set up my fork for me at no extra charge. (Cut the steerer tube, set the travel, put the headset races on). I was able to ride the next 2 days, and to be honest I didn't think I would be able to ride that weekend at all.

Other Comments:
I have been riding bicycles for almost 35 years. Dave is like a trip back in time in the way he loves the bicycle and riding it. It makes me happy to be able to buy something from him and give my money to him. I have since moved to New Jersey and hope to buy a Turner from him in the near future. I enjoy supporting his shop. Every town should have a shop owner with as much passion for the sport as Dave. We would all be better off for it!

Shop Summary:
Small shop, but plenty of room for the important stuff. Great vibe when you walk thru the door. Not a huge selection but what is on the shelves is top notch product at a great price. No need to stock 4 types of shock pumps, when you just need a good one.

Customer Service:
Customer Service is second to none. We just drove up to the store cause we were close and I'd heard great things. I ended up talking to Dave for a hour or so about riding in Nebraska and such. I would go out of my way to buy a bike from Dave. We discussed a bunch of options on bikes. He offered to let me ride his own personal Turner.

Other Comments:
Great place will return soon.

Shop Summary:
This is an excellent little shop in Lyons. Dave is super knowledgeable about everything bike related and has the best local trail knowledge of anyone I have ever spoken with.

Customer Service:
The service at Redstone has been outstanding. I brought Dave a Nomad frame to build up and his workmanship on the build and wheels were excellent. Even better than that, any time I have had any minor issue that needed fixing or tuning, Dave would drop what he was doing, throw the bike on the stand and fix it on the spot if he could. Furthermore, he is always willing to take a few minutes to talk bikes, trails etc. I feel like I learn something new every time I walk through the door.

Thanks Dave for the great ongoing experience.

Shop Summary:
The shop is small but has a nice HOMEY feel to it

Customer Service:
Dave is a NICE guy who makes you feel welcome and is happy to share his knowledge with you. He did a quick repair for me as a walk in and corrected other items that needed adjustment but that I did not point out. He also made NO COST suggestions to other things I could do to improve my setup.

The warmth and sharing this man has for the sport make this 5 star customer service.

Having moved here a few months ago and gone to several bikes shops, this is the one I will continue to use

Other Comments:
Good luck at the store and hope to join you on a Tuesday night ride soon.
