Bike Shop Owners! We have a new feature we call the Rating Badge. The Rating Badge is a small graphic image (150x58 pixels)
that displays your shop's rating and number of reviews on Mtbr.com. You can put it on your website and it allows all your
customers to review your shop. It also gives new customers the reviews and validation they need to buy from you. Just cut and paste the HTML
code found in the Rating Badge section of your review page. More details about the Rating Badge here»
Bicycle Outfitters
BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Went to Bicycle Outfitters shop, paid $200 for a deposit on a bike, was told that I had 30 days to pay it off, I asked what would happen if there was a problem and I could not pay it off, and I was told it would be extended or I would be given my money back. Got laid off my job for lack of work, went in to Bicycle Outfitters, and I spoke to the shop owner (Brad) and told him my situation, that I could not pay it off, That I wanted my deposit back. He said I would lose my money if I did not pay it off, and that I only had 1 day to pay it off. I tried explaining to him what the other guy had said, he called me a liar and told me to get out of his shop. I refused to leave with out my money, he called the cops, and became threatening, He told me to get out of his store several times, I told him that I would go ahead and pay the remainder, take the bike and leave, he said that I had lost my deposit, and then said he would have me arrested...I finally was able to give him the remainder of what I owed, and take the bike, but he never even gacve me a receipt, concerned he might still call the cops and report the bike stolen or something, this guy is a crook, I dont suggest anyone do business with him, I spoke to every bike shop in town about this, and everyone of them said that they have heard stories such as mine from lots of people, that its nothing new. I am reporting Bicycle Outfitters to the BBB, also writting all the local papers as well. Stay away!!!!!! Other guys seem nice enough, but the owner Brad is off, he is a thief, a cheat and a liar. I was informed that they lost a Trek account because of this guys behavior.
Shop Summary: Recently tuned my bike and did a good job! Very happy with the results. He got rid of a problem that had been annoying me for a while.
Customer Service: Brad special ordered in some shoes and pedals for me to try without me even agreeing to buy them first. I tried them and his recommendation was spot on, so I bought them.
Other Comments: Prices were competitive with what I could have found the parts for online (if I paid the shipping). Brad knew I was new to the biking thing and was more then happy to spend some time answering my questions without any attitude.
I will be back....
