Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: A cool new shop run by serious riders catering to the all-mountain and free-ride set. Grassroots cycling has brought a fresh take on the bike shop to Grand Junction, which you'll notice as soon as you walk into the building, which faintly resemles an old car, and hear the crunch of. .. . rocks underneath your feet. That's right, rocks. Rocks are the natural habitat of all mountain bikes and all people really serious about mountain biking, which is what they are. This shop is all about the newer, progressive spirit in mountian biking that is reinvigorating the sport and that's good to see in a traditionalist cycling community like Grand Junction. Customer Service: Get your bike fixed right first time. Take your baby to Grassroots and leave it in the hands of guys who really know what they're doing, and the best part is: you won't even have to wait a week to get your derailleur adjusted! These guys are really knowledgeable about the stuff they sell and don't suffer from "cool guy" syndrome. Other Comments: There are plenty of reasons to drag your butt over the 5th street bridge and check Grassroots out. They carry Santa Cruz, Brodie, and Transition and good quality components.
Oh- and these are the guys behind the "Ranch Style" jump jam this year that drew quite a bit of attention. Look for info about next years event which is rumored to have already drawn the interest of some big time riders and big time sponsors.
