Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: Decent size shop. Lots of Bikes in the showroom. Lots of Parts on the display area, along with gear tools and clothing. Customer Service: Excellent. I can't say how happy I was to stop by here. A buddy of mine told me to stop in to have my bottom bracket checked out to see if it was toast. I stopped in was there less than 3 minutes and Dave had my bike up on the stand and taken apart. Bad news was I needed a new bottom bracket. He put it all back together for me and I was on my way. There was no pressure to buy anything or any charge to look at it. Other Comments: I would definetely return here. I just hate that it's a bit out of my way.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: This is a great local shop. I have only been in once, but the guy there was very nice and helpful. Unlike some shops I felt welcome to spend as much time there as I wanted. Customer Service: Great. He got the part I needed without trouble or qualms Other Comments: I will definitely go back to the shop when I need parts

Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: I recently paid a visit to Tolland Bicycle Shop this summer in need of a tube. A simple enough task. I happened to be volunteering at a local camp and was excited to visit a shop I hadn't been to. So I needed a tube for a zipp 303 wheel and was told a 48mm stem is sufficient. I admitted my ignorance in that I wasn't exactly sure what valve length was required. I even brought the wheel inside the shop and expressed my concerns to the manager/owner. He again reassured me and I was on my way.
I traveled 30 miles back to where I was staying, and replaced the tube only to find the presta valve was inadequate. I then had to drive back to Tolland BIcycle, a bit annoyed though I understand that mistakes happen. I spoke with the same individual and told him they sold me the wrong tube. His was response was, "well...you really should know your own bike".
If that wasn't appalling enough, his compromise was to SELL me a valve extender. Not once did he apologize for HIS mistake and I had to essentially debate whether I should be charged for the labor of "installing" the valve extender. I have never experienced such poor customer service. Needless to say I will not be returning to this embarrassment of a bike shop. Customer Service: Appalling to say the least.
