Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: Well stocked and well priced. Frankly, I think the low overhead allows this shop to really offer prices that make it worth the trip from anywhere. The owner responds directly to emails. Very knowledgeable - once the owner knows your goals (price wise / ride wise) he makes solid recommendations. If you are looking for a new bike for a season rider to a child's 1st bike, give this place a look. Customer Service: All my repairs have been completed on time as promised. Several times as waited. Not sure that type of service exists anywhere. Other Comments: The owner is truly a nice guy who sometimes does not meet peoples expectation regarding a 'salesperson'. But recommend you give this shop a chance - it grows on you.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: Uneventful little shop. Looks ok if you need a tube or cable or something. Can't really imagine finding much else there. Customer Service: The guy there seemed pretty quirky at best. Certainly reading other reviews of this shop online confirms that. It would have been nice to have been able to get in the door without an offer of 'can I help you'? Isn't that phrase the death knell of a positive customer service experience?

Racer Shop Summary: A small retail and repair shop staffed by an extremely competent and experienced cyclist, with a Master of Arts degree in philosophy, no less. We can handle anything cycling related, promply and professionally. Customer Service: Nothing matters more than putting cyclist and cycle back together in a timely fashion and with prefect harmony. Other Comments: We ride daily, no matter what, and support commuting and environmentally friendly actions of all kinds, including the preservation of Long Island Sound.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: Small shop apparently staffed by the owner. Customer Service: My first couple of visits I was able to obtain basic repair items such as tubes without trouble. The 'owner' was always available and attentive.
A recent visit made it so that I would never enter the 'shop' again. The 'owner' managed to alienate me in a period of under 5 minutes. May be business is good enough that my $10.00 item isn't enough to be friendly or professional.
I never had any hopes for the shop beyond it being a local source for last minute items. My experience guaranteed that I would do without, or if need be, drive to a shop in a neighboring town for any needed items.
I have lived in many different areas in CT and other states, and have visited many different shops of all levels. Hometown family shops, pro shops, garage based operations. Until this shop I could always find a redeeming quality in any shop, which would bring me back.
With a long background, years ago in the bicycle industry, I understand the trials and tribulations of a small bike shop. I however, never could dream of the attitde I encountered.
