Bike Shop Owners! We have a new feature we call the Rating Badge. The Rating Badge is a small graphic image (150x58 pixels) that displays your shop's rating and number of reviews on Mtbr.com. You can put it on your website and it allows all your customers to review your shop. It also gives new customers the reviews and validation they need to buy from you. Just cut and paste the HTML code found in the Rating Badge section of your review page. More details about the Rating Badge here»
George's Front Street

Possible the largest selection of bikes in Idaho with a big pro-level offering...and a big pro level attitude. The only shop I can think of with more of attitude is Durance Cycles in Sun Valley. Two words: Richard Feldman. Anyway....

Many of the fastest racers hang out here/work at George's/belong on their team. I find their employees either very helpful (usually the women) or full of themselves (the guys with goatees and wool socks in the back). I only go here if I am desperate for something (their prices are sometimes OVER retail but for the most part are smack dab msrp) and can't make it to one of the other shops; last visit had me returning to return a part that was the wrong size even though the guy (same guy who overcharged me...front counter guy said "whoa that is too much for this part) promised me it would fit. Nope.

Admittedly this shop wins "Boise's Best" most of the time. I think it's for their selection; it's darn good! But I don't know if it's ballot stuffing or if their dedicated customers have a lot of time to tell others to vote but in the big picture I think George's is a lot of attitude and not a lot of substance: guess they're the most "corporate" of the bike shops in Boise.

Shop Summary:
Georges is the biggest of the shops in the Boise area and very professional. Jason at the Front street store is the best, and Mike (one of the owners) is super cool and super friendly. They will service any make, and can do just about anything, from tuning a top notch roadbike, to servicing the pivots on a Turner, to setting up a freeride drivetrain, to overhauling sealed bearings pivots on any bike that uses them. I have never, ever had a problem with the quality of their work. YOu can trust them.

Customer Service:
Excellent, A+

Other Comments:
Very professional. When you walk in there you don't have to deal with any cult, clique BS, it's all professional. Also Mike Cooley (owner) has don TONS for cycling in the Treasure Valley.
