Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: Nice shop with a good variety of parts and bikes. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The are very good at supporting the local cycling scene. Bringing in Trek and Fisher bikes to demo days at Shawnee Mission park was a good way to test their products out. Customer Service: Staff is knowledgeable and helpfull. I don't know why the other reviewer thought they were not helpfull. Every time I have been there they have been friendly and helpfull. Other Comments: One of the few shops I frequent in the Kansas City area. If you ride a Trek, Fisher, or brand they carry this is the shop to visit.

Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: Large, well-lit, nice show room with plenty of goodies to drool over. Mostly this stuff is on the pricier side, but it's also very nice gear. To put it differently - there is a significant gap between the quality of bicycle at Target compared with the quality of bicycle here.
They have enough bike gadgets, apparel, and parts on display, though it's not the hugest selection depending on what you're looking for. But still, I say "enough" because they only seem to carry good packs, good pumps, good grip tape, etc (no reason to keep 8 wal-mart grade pumps and then 3 good pumps... they stock just the 3 good pumps, for example). Customer Service: Overall very nice. A+ guys! I haven't had a tune-up here, but I saw plenty of people wheeling bikes out of their service area when I was in there, and everyone seemed pretty pleased (except for one guy who brought in a wheel so bent they couldn't possibly have fixed it ... bummer, dude). Other Comments: I can *maybe* understand why some of the people who left lower ratings might have thought these guys were snobby, but seriously guys I think you felt that way because you felt your gear was inferior or something. I have a couple of schwinn bikes and some gadgets that are perfectly fine for my taste and style of riding, though this shop would never carry them (not high enough quality). That doesn't mean they're snobby or elitist - they still "talked shop" with me without making me feel small or dumb.

Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: Large shop. Good inventory of Treks compared to anyone else in town. Customer Service: Very helpful. Other Comments: I went to this store today. I had read the two harsh reviews but wanted to see their selection of Trek hybrids. I was welcomed and helped very quickly. The lady that helped me was very helpful and knowledgeable. They were pretty busy and they still helped me out. I did not buy anything but felt that I should share a good experience non the less on here.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: The shop is almost all Trek product as far bikes go. Though they do have Serotta and Yeti. There are a good bit of accesories and pretty good customer service. Customer Service: I have purchased three bikes from this store and have had great experiences with them. The first bike I bought i few years ago was a road bike. They fit me to a bike that matched my riding style and I have never felt more comfortable on a bike. They were able to transfer my fit to another road bike and to a mountain bike that I bought later on. Since I've owned the bikes the store has done great service on them, most of which is done while I wait, instead of leaving it for a week at another shop. I know most of the employees ride bikes themselves and it is evident when talking to them that they are all passionate about cycling. Other Comments: I have always been welcomed in the store as I walk in the door and the staff remembers my name. If there is something they don't stock, they are more than willing to get it for me and I've never waited more than a week for something. It is a very welcoming and professionally run store that I am happy to give my business to.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: The shop is nice enough and they have a pretty good selection. The big problem is the staff. They aren't really nice at all except for one really tall guy who seems to really know his stuff. The rest...not so much. Customer Service: Well, unless you're shaved down and famous for racing, they typically won't do anything to help you. Last time I was in I wandered for 30 minutes in the empty store while the staff just stood their talking to each other. When one guy came to finally ask me if I needed help, I asked about finding CK cogs for my SS and he was curious why I rode SS. This in a town where about half the people do.
Other Comments: I run into their staff occasionally out on the trail or the road (more often on the pave) and they are the most snobby people I believe we have in town. I've known a couple of the guys for years and always try to be nice but they snub me anytime they see me. I believe that's indicative of how they treat you when you go into the store.
It's a great store (parts could be more easily found) but the staff is close the worst I've ever been around in more than 20 years of cycling. They're mostly roadies and they exemplify that snobbish attitude toward mountain bikers that was so prevalent back in the 80s when mountain bikes were getting popular. I thought we were all over that by now.
There is a tall guy who works there and he really seems to know his business...and he's nice. But he's never there when I am...not that I'll ever go again. For my money it's Bikesource. High priced but outstanding customer service.
