Reser Bicycle Outfitters is located in the Historic Monmouth Street District of Newport within a fifteen minute walk from either downtown Cincinnati or Covington. Convienently, there are many great places to ride within minutes of the shop. Nearby mountain bike trails can be found at Tower Park in Fort Thomas, and scenic road riding can be found alongside the banks of the Ohio River, while the hills of Kentucky provide challenge for everyone.

Very well stocked Local Bike Shop. Authorized dealer of multiple brands of mountain, road and BMX bikes.

DO NOT bring your bicycle to Reser for repairs. Reser-Newport charged me $91.00 total for a bike tune-up @ $59.00 and chain, chain install, stainless cable shift and Teflon housing shift @ $32.95. I rode my bike twice after repairs and had to return it because the gears kept slipping in and out and the bike chain would lurch when I was pedaling up a steep incline. The Reser technician (I use this term loosely because he does not have the knowledge to qualify as a technician), put my bike on a stand and pedaled and shifted my gears; he said he couldn't find any problem. He took it outside for a test drive and said he had no problems. He asked another "technician" if he had any ideas about my gears/chain slipping. The second tech frowned and said, NO. They did not offer to keep the bike and continue to troubleshoot or offer to refund my money (it obviously had not been tuned up). I left with my bike and told them I would take my business elsewhere.

Other Comments:
I took my bike to Montgomery Cyclery in Erlanger. The technician put my bike on the stand and was troubleshooting the shifting problem. He made a slight adjustment to my delimiter screw and fixed the problem I was having with my chain and gears slipping. The delimiter screw was too loose and the techs at Reser never thought to adjust it!!!

I am now going to try to get my money back from Reser for the tune-up charge. My entire experience with Reser-Newport was totally unsatisfactory.

Shop Summary:
Can be a good experience. They do have a strong selection of few bike brands that they prefer to stock. Kids also! They have a good selection on clips pedals. Usual couple racks of clothing, not much. Same goes with tires. The selection on something like under seat bags is very minimal my last visit. I was also looking to by another pair of the Rudy project bike shades, and they no longer have the display.
The atmosphere is very casual, like the owner. The younger sales clerk does try to push, but that is his job.

Customer Service:
Depends who you get, like most places. Most are good. Jason told me couple years ago, they can get me what I want or need. I try to support this local LBS. The last couple of months, I went there for the underseat bag, the rudy glasses, a set of trail king chili-- all no luck. So, I go in as I want to rebuild my fox shocks. The sales person, walks up, I tell him "I want to get the seals for shocks front and rear", he goes 100.00 for us to do the shocks. I said "thanks, but" and he proceeds to tell me that he has their mechanic do thiers, and I profess I want to do it. He goes "I don't know your mechanic abilities" I told him no you don't. Pretty much my visit ended then.

Other Comments:
I did go back and purchased another item. I still will try to support them. They sure do support the community.

Shop Summary:
Reser Bicycle Outfitters is a great shop. They carry very high end bikes and gear and are great with helping you find what you need. I recently was outfitted for a 4 days 350 mile tour. All the gear that was recommended performed great and I had no issues with anything on the trip. The staff is always quick to help and I am also very impressed the the shop involvement in the local community. Building trails and having organized rides.

You will not go wrong with this shop

Customer Service:
The mechanics are always friendly and willing to fix a problem. However, everytime I have taken my bike in, I have been sent home with another problem. First, I had my bicycle rebuilt. The new tires were too large and rubbed the break. I was sent home another time with the handle bars crooked, and still another time with the chain bouncing up and down the cogs. I think I'll be trying a different bike shop.

Shop Summary:
Great LBS! Nice, clean, friendly store with a good selection of high quality bikes of all types. Active pro cycle advocates in the community, great and knowledgeable sales and mechanic staff. They even teach basic bike maintenance classes. The place is like a bike lovers candy store. If Reser was Hank Hill, bikes and bike accessories are their propane. A true no pressure, friendly store that's high end and down to earth at the same time. Custom bike fittings with each purchase and FREE LIFETIME tune ups! Are you kidding me! Why buy a bike anywhere else?

Customer Service:
I do tons of research when making a major purchase (which a bike is to me, and I was in the market for 2) and ended up spending tons of time online and in bike shops. Talking with the Reser crew was like talking to good friends that know a lot about biking, are glad you're getting into it and are there to offer you the best advice possible with no pressure whatsoever. When it came time to buy, I of course bought from Reser. I got caught up in traffic on the way to the fitting appointment and I started to worry as it was getting close to closing time for the day. No worries at Reser, as someone stayed WAY past closing time to make sure both fittings were done right and I was out the door with all the stuff I needed that met my preferences and needs (helmets, shorts, pump, bike rack, etc). The bike rack I bought was out of stock and I only have a small car so I was bummed that I might not get to ride until it came in. Again, no worries at Reser as one of the guys lent me his and said I could bring it back the following week when mine came in! YGTBMFSM!!!! I mean who does that? Reser Bicycle Outfitters, that's who! BEST. LBS. EVAR.

Other Comments:
Planning on getting a nice road bike next year and can't wait to go bike shopping at Reser again! Reser FTW!
