Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: They have a lot of stuff, the shop is decent size. The bikes are mostly lower end. Good shop for tubes, lubes, and some clothing. Customer Service: They are grossly understaffed for the amount of traffic they get. It's hard to get someone to help you. On the floor they don't know anything about bikes.
In the shop they are split. Half of them aren't very knowlegeable, while the over half who know what they are talking about think you don't. Other Comments: You can't get your bike fixed because they are too busy doing free tune-ups for anyone who bought a bike there, ever. I took my bike in because the avid discs weren't stopping right. The guy said, "you might have to adjust the pads." And then just stood there like an idiot. I finally said, "well I brought it here for you to fix it, if that's what needs to be done, then do it." Found out the caliper was faulty; but man, what a jerk.

Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: Huge shop with a huge selection. Very competitive prices. However, they are kind of a big box store. Customer Service: I question some of the "mechanics" competence.
They do give free tune ups for life!
They also price match everything for 6 months so save your recipts. So, if you go back to the store and they are haveing a sale, get your money back! Other Comments: There is a real lack of lets find the best bike for the customer as possible. For instance they wanted to sell my 6 foot 2 inch 270 lbs friend who is new to the sport a $1200 full suspension GT. I talked him out of it. He bought an Iron Horse instead. The thing that really concerns me is that you can by Mongooses, Iron Horses, and Schwinns at wal-mart, dicks, and sports authority. I only shop here for minor componets like tubes, and lizzard skin products. I will not let them touch my bike! They all seem nice. However.... I does not feel like a bike shop. It feels like Sport Authority with more expensive bikes.

Racer Shop Summary: A huge shop with a wide selection of mediocre products. Many of the clothing items seemed to have cosmetic flaws, and a lot of the bikes were poorly built. I asked to test ride a bike, and when one of the rare competent mechanics on the premises checked it over, he noticed the stem bolts clamping the steer tube were stripped. The bikes i rode shifted poorly, and had other in excusable problems, like brake rub, out of tru wheels, misaligned stems, etc. Customer Service: I suppose the customer service is passable, when you get any at all. Other Comments: Support your local bike shop. This place has just as many self-important pricks as any other shop, and has sub-par customer service and the mechs don't seem to care.

Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: I am pretty new to the mountain bike world starting this summer. I got involved through my work and have used this store several times. The staff are great to work with and are very informed on the newest tech and product information. They can break down any questions asked to them and strive to make sure that you get what you need. The shop works on all bikes (even ones that they don't sell or ones that were not bought from them). Customer Service: They treat every customer as if you did buy from them and they don't work on commission.
I was at the shop on one of their busy days and I over heard the store manager (I think his name was Brian)and a customer talking while I was shopping. The customer was there with his son and a new bike that they had recently purchased. The bike had a broken rear derailler. The manager immediately advised the father that he would replace the entire bike with a new one and not just fix the other one. This was refreshing to hear since most bike shops take you bringing back a bike as personal and think that it is coming out of their pocket.
