Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: I visit this shop regularly when the biking season is in its prime. The new location gives them plenty of room for is to browse around and they have tons of bikes to offer. I go to other shops and they are always lacking something. No kids bikes, no MTN bikes etc… Or they just plain don’t understand their product. Not an issue with this place. They will become your friends rather than just some bike shop looking to sell you that bike. Customer Service: I am a frequent customer and spend alot so they handle my needs quite well. When I cant ride they go out of thier way to help out and get the bike fixed. Most of the time on the spot. I will leave this for comparison. When you spend 5 grand on a bike (FYI / I only bought the frame from them) and want to ride. You want to ride. They help make that happen and dont schedule your bike fix for the next week like other LBS. They understnad those who live to ride and those who need the bike for next weeks ride with the grandpa. Because of this I highly value the fact that they adjust thier services based on customer needs... SO AWESOME! Other Comments: I tend to always look around at other bikes. I wont lie. However almost everytime I come back to this place for something or another. There are a few other shops in town but if you dont at least look this place up while your in holland. You might as well not come to holland looking for bikes.

Racer Shop Summary: This shop is the place to go in Holland. Everyone that works there is a cyclist and loves talking bikes. I enjoy going into cross country and just talking about my last ride. The shop employees are always willing to talk bikes with you. They seem to be obsessed just like you and I. It is great that the shop moved to a larger location because now they have more room for all the bikes they carry and you can actually test ride a bike for fit inside the shop. Customer Service: The service department is top notch. Nate, the head wrench, takes a lot of pride in his work. I would consider him a perfectionist. If I go in with my rig making a clicking noise or something is rubbing he automatically throws it into a stand to check it out. he may not be able to fix it right away, but he sure wants to find out what is going on. Drew and the rest of the crew are great as well. They do a great job fixing and putting together bikes. They learned from a great wrench in Nate. I have great confidence that my bike is going to ride great after it leaves Cross Country Cycle. The team does a great job with bike fit as well, my new Epic feels as if it was designed just for me due to the precise adjustments made to make it a perfect fit. Other Comments: I am currently working with Brian in the coaching program and I have seen a significant improvement in my cycling and racing this season. To me it has been worth every penny and I would highly recommend coach Harris's services if you are looking to improve your general cycling ability or want to become a more competitive racer. If you are in Western Michigan I would highly recommend going to Cross Country Cycle the next time you need something cycling related or just want to talk bikes. I lived in Holland for 3.5 years and now live in New Castle Colorado and I have been looking, but it is going to be hard to find and bike shop that gives the customer an experience like Cross Country Cycle does. The shops out here have a lot to live up too.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: I like this shop because it's family run so they have a vested interest in helping their customers. Customer Service: I've never had a problem with customer services issues. It's nice to just wander around and look at stuff without a sales person breathing down your neck.
The mechanic, Nate, is top notch. I'm not sure on how many years he's been doing it, but I know mechanics at other bike stores have said he is one of the best around. From what I experienced, Nate takes a lot of pride in his work, which I have found rare at other bike stores.
The only issue I have is that their new location is about 3x the size of their old location. It's also in a high traffic area so their business is just taking off. That is great, but they could use one or two more employees to work the simple stuff (cash register, stock room). I think they may have hired somebody by now so this comment could be obsolete.
