Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: Decent shop - lots of bikes, well staffed. They can answer the basics. If you're seeking a bike <$1500 this may be OK. Customer Service: Plenty of people - but lacking in depth of knowledge. I asked for details on model year differences to test the sales guy and he was flat out wrong. Other Comments: If you know what you want and they have it priced well - go for it. If you need guided toward a high end bike - it' a coin toss.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: Burnsville location. Tons of bikes to choose from Customer Service: Burnsville location. The first time I visited, I got a 'salesperson' who couldnt answer my questions. The second time I visited a gal asked me if I had any questions, and left me alone when I told her I didnt (I like that....pestering a customer is my #1 pet peeve).
The mechanic shop was understaffed; I overheard a salesman tell one new bike buyer it would be 5 hrs before they could get to tuning their bike. I would never take my bike there for work, but its a good place to browse.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: I have bought from ericks bike shop and the sales people are not stupid and you can tell that they have ridden bikes before and most of the stuff they say is pretty dead on. Customer Service: The customer service is good, the sales people are very nice and froendly but one thing I have noticed is that when you go there trying to buy something they will try to mke you buy the most expensive thing now I know that they for one want to do that because the more you pay better componets you get. My main reason to thinking that they do this is because with every purchase they get commision how much I do not know. Other Comments: I have nothing against Erics Bike Shop and in no way am I trying to dos them i buy from them regularily and want to help support them but it does bug me that they might want to make commision for themself instead of putting the customer first. These thoughts are my opinions and thoughts so do not open a lawsuit using my post as one of your things to back you up.

Racer Shop Summary: I'll give it to Erik's shop crew; they have been very knowledgeable regarding any technical issue I have had. Though I do not agree with their billing policies (i.e. warranties, etc), I don't believe one could dismiss their technical expertise. However, the way a bike shop takes care of customers after the purchase is what creates loyal customers. In that regard, service after the transaction is unique, and why I would suggest another bike shop. As for the free service for new bikes, that benefit is an industry standard and is not unique. All shops being equal in regards to free service after the bike purchase, Erik's could do more to maintain my loyalty, given a purchase in the multi-thousands. Are they about getting my dollar or my patronage for life? Customer Service: Erik's falls short here. I would prefer to purchase a bike from their shop mechanics instead of a sales associate who knows the sales pitch verbatim. If you're reading this review, you probably study bikes as much as possible prior to a purchase. I want that technical experience when purchasing a bike; I don't feel confident the sales associate is an effective resource for technical questions. Other Comments: Erik's needs to diversify. I am not a Specialized fan, but I do enjoy other products from Erik's. However, most of what I find available is from Specialized which is not what I want. The stores at Erik's feel more like "Concept Stores" aka Trek Bike Shops. I like to buy into individuals, not corporate concepts.
