Bike Shop Owners! We have a new feature we call the Rating Badge. The Rating Badge is a small graphic image (150x58 pixels) that displays your shop's rating and number of reviews on Mtbr.com. You can put it on your website and it allows all your customers to review your shop. It also gives new customers the reviews and validation they need to buy from you. Just cut and paste the HTML code found in the Rating Badge section of your review page. More details about the Rating Badge here»
Penn Cycle

Trek, Lemond, Giant, Felt and Gary Fisher bikes. One of the better technician shops in town, all styles of bikes.

Shop Summary:
Penn Cycle locations are your standard bike shops, decent selection of bikes (virtually all Trek/Gary Fisher). Good array of accessories. They offer the standard free tune-up. Good knowledgeable staff.

I rate their overall rating as a 3 because I'd like to see a wider selection of bikes. Cannondales, Specialized, etc, but that's not to say that Trek and Gary Fisher (same thing) don't make very good bikes.

Customer Service:
My reasons for rating their customer service as a 3 are essentially dividing between my two bicycle purchasing experience. The first bike I purchased from them was their Richfield location where I got very good service (not necessarily fast service as it was busy). They offered me several bikes in my price range, displayed technical know-how, and were very polite. Richfield would get a 5, but they seem to be overworked/understaffed and haven't been able to fix anything within a reasonable time (up to a couple weeks waiting to get service performed).

However, they get a big fat 0 for customer service when I purchased a bike at their Eagan location. Considering I was spending a couple grand, I'd at least like courteous service. The guy said maybe two words to me, swiped my card and threw my receipt in the bag without even telling me about my free tune-up service or anything. I was pretty much an inconvenience to him. So we'll see if I go back.
