Efinger Sporting Goods

Shop Summary: I should note that this is not a bike shop, per sé. It is a sporting goods store with a huge bike department. The department itself if very neat and finding just what you need and want is easy. The had a nice selection of all types of bikes -- but more importantly for me, they had a nice selection of road bikes.
Customer Service: Customer service was amazing. I went to this shop based off of other reviews on mtbr of this shop and they did not disappoint. Mark, the department manager, was extremely helpful, informative, and patient. I decided to make the transition from mountain bike to road bike and his help was invaluable to my bike selection and the necessary accessories I would need down the road. He took his time and measured me to ensure I had the best fitting bike for my body frame.
I purchased their extended warranty which allows for unlimited tune ups and check ups so I will be frequenting the shop a lot more in the near future. I look forward to their help and guidance as I continue to master this gorgeous road bike I just purchased (2009 Specialized Allez).
Other Comments: I recommend this shop to cyclists of all levels. The customer service is top notch, and they are not pushy salesmen looking to sell you the most expensive thing they have. Mark went as far as to install the bike rack I purchased from them and he provided me some samples of some energy supplements (Gu) which I was curious in trying.
I hope this review helps. Have a safe summer.

Shop Summary: Located near Bridgewater, NJ. True sporting goods store with a great bike shop. They sell mainly Haro, Raleigh, Specialized, Scott and Kona. They also offer the usual assortment of biking accessories and clothing. All packaged in a low-key comfortable atmosphere.
Customer Service: Knowledgeable, helpful, patient. No pushy sales gimmicks. Good selection of bikes. I have purchased 2 bikes from them. (Cyclocross, Mountain bike) First was so well built and set up that it required no tuning during a 500+ mile ride to Maine. Their year of free service for every new bike purchase is great, as well as their commitment to warranty support. I would recommend them in a heartbeat. My only regret is that I don't live close enough to them to visit the store more often.
What a good local bike shop should be.
Other Comments: If you're looking for new bike, and you're located within a reasonable driving distance to these guys, you should check out this shop.

Shop Summary: This is the place if you are looking for great service for road, mountain bikes and anything in between. A couple of nearby shops are starting to shy away from mountaining biking (road specialist???). These guys do it all and do it with a smile. Great one stop shopping if you also need other sporting goods or hunting and fishing equipment. The best bike shop and sporting goods store in New Jersey period!
Customer Service: Mark and his guys will go out of their way for you every single time. No attitude, just a smile. This is a shop you can trust. These guys are riders. You will see them on the road, at Chimney Rock and even at Diablo on any given weekend. Have a question on a product they have probably used it. Great for the family and kids as well.

Shop Summary: this is a great shop. they recently changed the set up and it looks and feels bigger. even though its part of a large sporting goods store it has the feel of a local bike shop and you get the care and attention you expect. have a wide selection of bikes from kids, mountain, road, recreational and serious racing. they also have a plethora of components.
any work you need done is performed quickly. you will be back on your bike in no time and they treat your bike as if its their own when working on it.
Customer Service: every one in the department is great. not once was i made to feel rushed into a decision, pushed to buy a certain kind of component, or bike, or brushed off cause of my terrible indecisiveness.
i recently had a crash which resulted in the death of the first bike i bought from them. having to get a new bike they worked with me on converting a time trial bike into a road bike. this resulted in a lot of time and work on their part. not only did they make the bike into exactly what i was looking for but they worked out a great deal for me too!
Other Comments: a perfect example of their level of customer service is this...
while waiting for my new bike to get completed they stayed open 10-15 extra minutes and even offered to put a hockey game on their t.v. i mentioned i was missing. not too many places will do that.
thanks guys!
