Bike Shop Owners! We have a new feature we call the Rating Badge. The Rating Badge is a small graphic image (150x58 pixels)
that displays your shop's rating and number of reviews on Mtbr.com. You can put it on your website and it allows all your
customers to review your shop. It also gives new customers the reviews and validation they need to buy from you. Just cut and paste the HTML
code found in the Rating Badge section of your review page. More details about the Rating Badge here»
Bikeworks Albuquerque
Owner operated, service oriented, professional shop. Selling Maverick, Rocky Mountain, Serotta, Van Dessel, and Swobo bikes.
Shop Summary: This is everything a shop should be - before it goes corporate. They continually add new lines, parts and gear; all designed around the customer. Check out their website for the latest products and reviews or to catch up on where they are riding/racing next.
Customer Service: Great service from all four owners. Tony, Dan, Dan and Charlie have built two perfect custom bikes for me. And have helped many friends with their own bikes needs.
Other Comments: If you are looking for quality bikes from people who know their craft, stop in. The guys at Bikeworks always have the time to point me in the right direction. Whether it be local trails, races or bike maintenance - they know their stuff and are willing to share.
Quit reading this and go see for yourself.

Shop Summary: Not the biggest inventory in town, but can and will get anything you want/need in a very timely manner. Great location and there is always something going on there cycling related ie. talk, drink, videos and BIKES!!
Customer Service: Dan is one of the best wrenches and fork and shock experts around, he rebuilt my Foxes the same day and did not need to send out to PUSH; Danny is also one of the best wrenches and can build an awesome wheel, he has built a road set and rebuilt a mt. bike set and both are strong, light and true; Tony is also an awesome wrench and was the only guy in Albq. for a very long time that would and could work on Chris King hubs and Santa Cruz bikes. They all will give free advice and "no question is a dumb question" attitude.
Other Comments: It is really unfortunate (kss, other post)that your one and only visit for business at the shop was not to your satisfaction. Don't allow your sensitive ego to be the total judge of this shop.
These guys not only wrenches and talk the talk they walk the walk. They race almost every weekend and some, sponser events,ie. Gallup, local races and racers and are always willing to lead a group ride anywhere, road or mt. bike.
They love to entertain at their shop and when you have young, fit, fun, knowlegeable and many women will agree, good looking guys working and "hanging out" it makes for a pretty good shop. I come in from SF because I know I will ALWAYS get great, honest and timely service at Bikeworks. Sorry for your one unfortunate visit, give them another shot, you will have a change of mind. And if not for service, go in and drink their beer and say you at least got a beer out of them.

Shop Summary: As an earlier reviewer mentioned, the boys do occasionally have drinks on hand. And snacks. If you're a friendly, respectful person, chances are that they'll offer you some. While their selection of bicycles and accessories isn't necessarily the widest in town, it is well-selected and the owners (Dan, Dan & Tony) have ridden virtually everything they sell. Experienced mechanics, road racers, downhillers and XC riders, that is where Bikeworks' strength lies- in the owners' experience. For intermediate to advanced riders, there is no place in Albuquerque that will work harder to find or build you the right bike for your riding style and budget- even if it means sending you to the competition.
Bikeworks' wheelbuilding and suspension service are easily among the best in Albuquerque and while they may need to work on their job scheduling (most busy shops do), they will stand behind that work. While picking their brains before shopping online will deservedly earn you a bad reputation in their eyes, their prices are fair and if what you need isn't in stock, they can have it in quickly. They could stock more & better clothing, but there are other shops in town that manage that category better. For riders looking for advice and service based on experience (rather than poorly remembered or understood catalog copy), no other shop in Albuquerque comes close.

Customer Service: Very quick turn around on service. Spent alot of time with me on a new bike purchase. Nice selection of test bikes. Took out multiple bikes over several weekends. Most knowledgable overall staff I have delt with in town.
Other Comments: Keep up the awesome job of supporting our biking community. Thanks Bikeworks.

Shop Summary: Small and friendly atmosphere. Have a unique selection of bikes, and other products that are hard to find. The best place in town to get suspension service, and custom wheel builds. They also do a great job on regular tune ups as well. Personal service and always say hi when you walk in the door, don't get that too often.
