Bike Shop Owners! We have a new feature we call the Rating Badge. The Rating Badge is a small graphic image (150x58 pixels) that displays your shop's rating and number of reviews on Mtbr.com. You can put it on your website and it allows all your customers to review your shop. It also gives new customers the reviews and validation they need to buy from you. The Mendon CycleSmith

The Mendon Cyclesmith is a small, service oriented shop in the fertile Finger Lakes region of Upstate NY. I service all makes and models of bikes, and specialize in full service, in house for all Cannondale suspension products, old and new (note, I sell Cannondale suspension and parts only, NO BIKES) wheel building, and high end road and mountain specialty repair for the competetive athlete. Turnaround is rapid, and most often tailored to the needs of the customer, not the other way around. Many services can, and are done while you wait. Jamis is my full spectrum brand, from kids bikes to high end production race rigs, with Titus picking up the high end boutique and custom range. This is your spot for Titus in NY state! I alos consign used bikes, and have an ever changing selection from kids cheap Huffy''s, to multi thousand dollar 2 year old MTB, and Road rides. The shop is well situated for roadies stopping by on their way through, and MT bikers on their way to the Finger Lakes, Dryer Rd Park, Harriet Hollister State Park, etc. Many items are available, as well as parts, but being a shop of less than 800 square feet we do not have everything right here, right now. So take advantage of our rapid ordering turnaround. Orders roll in every single week, placed that week. If you need it, tell me by Monday AM, it will be here before weeks end. My small size, and subsequent reduced overhead allow for pricing that has surprised many mail order junkies, stop by, or call for a price quote, and as a bonus, most parts ordered through us will be installed free, or at a price sure to make you smile! I am DOG FRIENDLY, and have 2 furry friends on the premises, they will lick you to death, and add alot of character to the place. Bring the kids, between Jack and Hudson, and the Ice cream stand across the lot, they will be entertained, and you can hang out longer!! Be sure to look up when you''re in, there are many rare, old, and hard to find bikes hanging from the ceiling, including a number of really old pre 1900 rides! Thanks for checking us out. Craig Smith

Great little gem down in mendon. Excellent service, with prices that easily compete with the internet/mail order giants. Craig is a great guy and will do you right!

Shop Summary:
Small shop in a small town. Service is great, mountain bike selection good considering the small size. Jamis bikes also rock. I went there with my girlfriend when we were looking for her first mountain bike. Being poor college students we wanted something cheap, but as a serious mountain biker of 10 years I wasn't going to let her buy anything with an RST pos fork or other weak components. Cyclesmith had what we were looking for, a last year's model hardtail with solid components for $300! AND HE LET US TAKE IT IN OUR CAR TO DEMO IT AT THE LOCAL MTB PARK!!!!! This is after all the other shops were dismissing my budget of 300-400 as impossible, and real mountain bikes could only be had for 600+. Also went in looking for a replacement crankset, he had what we were looking for. Great service, great prices, and two awesome dogs. Can't beat this place.

Customer Service:
Customer service is great. Very attentive and knowledgeable owner. I only met the other guy once, and he was professional and a nice guy too.

Other Comments:
This place is a great little LBS. Good prices, great service, and an owner who really cares about repeat customers. If you can, make this your service shop. Can't give a 5 for technical expertise cause he only set up the bike (and I had to readjust the mech. disc brakes), but other than that the bike was well put together.

Shop Summary:
nice & warm feeling when you walk in and greated immediately by two very friendly dogs that want nothing more than to be petted. With the shop being small it gives you a sense of companionship with the owner as he is usually wrenching infront of you as you converse about your needs or repair.

Customer Service:
Outstanding, every repair is treated as if it was his own bike, no matter if its your winter beater or road machine. The knowledge spans many era's of bikes, from my old campy friction shifters or the new SRAM Force on my race bike, Craig is up-to-date on all of the technology.

He also is an avid rider, often riding the "the new stuff" and letting other try the bikes as well. Nothing is better than having someone understand your problem as a rider does.

Other Comments:
Very accomodating, twice now he has waited as I try to get to the shop to pick up my ride as he is closing.

All and all its a great shop, if he doesn't have the part, he will have it faster than most.
