Bike Shop Owners! We have a new feature we call the Rating Badge. The Rating Badge is a small graphic image (150x58 pixels) that displays your shop's rating and number of reviews on Mtbr.com. You can put it on your website and it allows all your customers to review your shop. It also gives new customers the reviews and validation they need to buy from you. Just cut and paste the HTML code found in the Rating Badge section of your review page. More details about the Rating Badge here»

Shop Summary:
It's hard to match Sids for mountain bike eye candy. If you're looking for a high-end Specialized, Santa Cruz, Cannondale, Rocky Mountain, or Bianchi mountain bike, chances are Sids has it in stock. And unlike some shops in the city, the folks at Sids actually *ride* mountain bikes, they don't just sell them. You can find Sids employees riding everything from Downhill at Diablo to dirt jumps up at Highbridge and XC in Westchester. And because they ride, they know what they're selling.

Customer Service:
Years ago when I was relatively new to mountain biking, I bought a pair of Sidi shoes from Sids (the price on their website was comparable to other web retailers, and they matched their website price in the store). A couple months later, I bought a new pair of crank brothers pedals from them. I had neglected to grease the threads on the cleat bolts, and one of the old cleat bolts had frozen. The salesperson who was helping me switch over to the new pedals took the shoe back to a mechanic who drilled out the frozen bolt for me (for no charge). You can't get that kind of service from mailorder, and there are a number of other shops even who wouldn't go to that length for a customer. I left the store happy and satisfied that Sids cares about its customers.

Other Comments:
Sids actively supports trail building efforts in NYC. They give back to the MTB community.
