Shop Summary:
High-end boutique shop focused on mountain bikes, but they stock some great road bikes too. Rare for a shop to have such a good selection of high-end bikes, frames, components, etc. It's a cool shop, feels more like someone's living room than a typical bike store.

Other Comments:
After riding a Fat Chance Yo Eddy since 1993, I decided to get an Ibis Mojo SL after having the opportunity to demo a Mojo at the Mountain Bike Oregon festival last July.

This was a significant purchase for me, both in price and importance. After shopping around local shops, online and across the country by phone, I decided to purchase the bike from Lou at Briarcliff Bike Works because of his knowledge, enthusiasm and responsiveness. I live in Manhattan and could have gotten the bike from a shop here, but I rented a car and headed up to BBW after trading some emails and a couple phone calls with Lou.

He was able to put together a custom build-up (including wheels) on a very tight schedule. I got a great price on the bike, which was a bonus because the level of service I got throughout the process was well worth paying a premium for.

Shop Summary:
Great shop. Lou is a soulful guy who lives and breathes cycling. A valuable resource for information, Lou has vast knowledge and experience. He takes the time to research the best product for a given application ( ie; the best headset to use for converting a lefty fork to my Ellsworth Evolve to obtain the proper stack height.) Also a super meticulious mechanic, with a talented service staff. Lou helps me with both my mountain and road bikes.
With a backgroud in high end sales, I appreciate someone who is competent, honest, and easy to deal with, and takes the time to explain the whys and hows. I've purchased many bikes from Lou, far more parts and accessories, and have referred many satisfed friends and associates to Briarcliff Bike Works. reccommend them highly.

Customer Service:
Fantastic

Understands and values a relationship based business philosophy.

Shop Summary:
Great bike shop! I purchased a Mojo Sl from Lou & had a great experience overall. Lou was able to answer all my question re bike set up, performance & available options that made sense for the type of riding I do. I have been to a number of shops that treat you like a number while you're spending money, thats not at all what you'll experience at Briarcliff. My wife who is not a biker went along for my first visit & was made to feel very much at home.

Customer Service:
Absolutely fantastic customer service, really second to none. Lou never shortchanged me on his time & spent hours answering all my questions. Really get the sense he's in it for the customer & possesses high level of integrity

Other Comments:
I live 90 minutes away & will gladly pass a number of bike shops to head to Briarcliff whenever my bikes require service or I need to make other purchases, it's that kind of place.

Shop Summary:
Lou, was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. He obviously knows his stuff and shares it without a hint of talking down to you, his customer. By the web photos and the inventory we talked about, Briarcliff Bike Works is a high end, complete bike shop. His wife Dawn handled the finances without a hitch. They make a great team!

Customer Service:
I emailed and phoned Lou, the shop owner.I had been researching my next mtn. bike and saw his ad in mtbr.com classifieds. Lou was OUTSTANDING, as he took all the time I needed to facilitate my decision making process. Of course, he wanted to make a winter sale, yet he answered all my questions concerning other options I was pursuing. He asked me very pertinent questions, as to what type of biking I would be doing and specifically what I wanted my new ride to provide. He even took a look at a used bike ad I was seriously contemplating, explaining pros & cons.
I ended up buying an Ibis Mojo from Lou. He then took all the time I needed, to explain exactly how the suspension differed from my previous bike, how the ride would be, etc. We then took the exact measurements from my old bike, so he could set up my new ride to the best of his ability without me being physically present. Then my bike was meticulously disassembled, packed and shipped to me. He included a step by step set of assembly instructions, with photos of the fork and headset, as I had never assembled one before. The reassembly went without a hitch, the setup was perfect, the ride exquisite. I am one happy guy!

Other Comments:
I have never had such a positive encounter and transaction over the phone or in person, as I had with Lou and his wife Dawn. I give them 5 chilies, without hesitation!
