Shop Summary:
I walked around the shop, looking at their products for nearly 30 minutes before someone even asked me if I needed help. I also got the impression that this one guy possibly the owner of the shop, thought he was god's gift to cycling. Poor attitudes, limited selection of bikes and accessories and everything was overpriced!!

Customer Service:
I bought my first mountain bike there I think it's a 99 or 00 Trek 4300. The bike has been bulletproof, I think I brought it there for it's 10 hour service. I don't recall any problems with service. Nothing exceptional stands out in my memory either.

Other Comments:
The bottom line is for me I have found several other bike shops in the same proximity to me that seem to offer much more selection and customer care.

Shop Summary:
A small shop in Queensbury that sells different styles of bikes and a fair amount of accessories.

Customer Service:
Not impressive. One salesman is so full of himself (probably the guy mentioned in the other two reviews) and is nauseating to listen to. He thinks is the king of cycling and won't hesitate to tell you. However, he doesn't know much behind that bravado. He didn't order the right skewers for my tires and when I went back in to tell them they didn't even offer to get the right one for me.

I had a tune-up done and had to lube the chain myself after noticing it was noisier than when I brought it in. The gears didn't shift right and I had to do a barrel adjustment to get it done right. This is after I brought the bike back and told them I didn't feel it shifted right. A heavy set tech got on it, tooled around the parking lot and told me it shifted fine. Whatever.

I have decided I will not go back. Locally the Inside Edge in Glens Falls may be an option or even Blue Sky in Saratoga. Placid Planet in Lake Placid is way better than Rick's Bike Shop for sure and worth the ride.

Other Comments:
Is Rick's the only bike shop that sells bikes and doesn't do fittings? I am surprised some of the manufacturers allow a store to sell their product w/o a fitting. Seems like Ricks just want to sell and could care less about customer service. I know a guy who spent a lot of money there and referred a lot of people and then was treated like crap when he needed some minor work done on one of the bikes he bought at Ricks.

Final anaylsis - Save your time and money and go to a professional bike shop.

Been there once

Shop Summary:
Haha. Rick's bike shop. Where I bought my original mountain bike 12 years ago. I have been wondering when I could review this shop. I have been there a few times following that purchase. Selection was OK. Staff, well, intersting.

Customer Service:
I felt like I was in the wrong for buying a lower priced bike. I was just getting into riding and the staff there made me feel like I was ignorant. Granted, I was, but, they could have faked like I was the king of mtn biking. They like to tell you how well they ride or what big rides they have been on, not concerned with what and where you plan to ride. Service turnaround was poor.

Other Comments:
The previous reviewer, which was an 09 review stated exactly how I felt 12 years ago. Sad things haven't changed.

Shop Summary:
The sales people think they are doing you a huge favor by letting you look at their bikes. Very small selection, probably about 40 bikes total.

Prices are about 20% higher than Schenectady, NY shops (45 min away).

Customer Service:
They will try desperately to sell you everything and anything in the store.

The mechanics do not look capable of even getting on a bike.

Staff does not know their stuff but will strive to make you feel stupid. They are closer to mall security guards than bike experts.

Other Comments:
A salesperson told me it was important to tighten the spokes that are looser to prevent rim damage. He was 100% serious.

I'm not sure how shops like this remain in business, but they obviously cater to upstate's rich and clueless weekend warriors.

I cannot justify spending $1 in this store.
