Bike Shop Owners! We have a new feature we call the Rating Badge. The Rating Badge is a small graphic image (150x58 pixels)
that displays your shop's rating and number of reviews on Mtbr.com. You can put it on your website and it allows all your
customers to review your shop. It also gives new customers the reviews and validation they need to buy from you. Just cut and paste the HTML
code found in the Rating Badge section of your review page. More details about the Rating Badge here»
Downcycles
DOWN Cycles is a rider owned bike shop. The owner and operator AJ Picarello raced downhill mountain bikes professionally for over 10 years. He raced in the Norba Nationals series, Norba sanctioned Plattekill Extreme series and Trail 66 series. AJ has competed in many other bike disciplines such as trials (at Motorama and Candy town), XC racing (Norba Nationals and Norba sanctioned) and dual slalom. But most of all, AJ loves to freeride all his products under extreme conditions to insure what he sells meets or exceeds the expectations of his customers, you can see the outcome of his testing in TechTips (reviews). If you are going to recommend a mountain bike it should come from experience and knowledge, thats why I, the web designer and fellow downhill/freerider, have been shopping at downcycles for years with the utmost satisfaction.
Shop Summary: As far as I am concerned, Down Cycles is the coolest bike shop anywhere. Period. The owner (A.J.Picarello) is unbelievably well versed in all aspects of the sport, and is also totally cool and down to earth. Every time I have shopped at Down Cycles, I always get totally hooked up. And unlike a lot of stores that are filled with a little of every thing, A.J. always seems to have the coolest stuff. He appears to get a real kick out of carrying inventory that is within reach of serious riders, yet outperforms the most expensive choices. They always have better prices, often by far than what I see everywhere else. There are always sick Downhill, Freeride, Dirt jump and BMX bikes in stock, as well as the usual XC fare that you commonly see. A.J. and all the guys who work there are hard core riders, and deeply involved the scene. It's hard to explain, you just gotta go there. The place just radiates everything that got you stoked about bikes.
Customer Service: Totally cool vibe. Expert but never snooty. Never pushy. They want you to get what you need and not overspend: it's kind of weird.
Other Comments: Check them out. Trust me.

Shop Summary: Shop is rider owned, people that work there are also riders. They almost always have what I need, and if not, have ordered specific parts for me.
Customer Service: They will take care of you, The owner loves riding, and he will do anything to get you back out riding too!
Other Comments: Although there are several bike shops in the area, Downcycles is the only one I will be using for the rest of my biking career.
