Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: If theres one thing your going to find at Carolina Fatz is personal service. Jason is the "MAC DADDY", These guys ride not just talk about it, And their number 1 priority is keeping you riding. I have bought 4 bikes over the years from Jason And am about to buy a 5th. I admit I thought I would save a few bucks and bought my last bike from an online company (Performance) I have only had one problem with the bike (a bent pivot point bolt) when I called them with the problem they assured me that Eric Carter personally drops 10' drops on a bike just like mine and has never had a bent pivot bolt! I assured them Eric Carter doesn't weigh 220lbs. I called Mongoose and they said I needed to go through the dealer. I finally just made my own hardware.Carolina Fatz does carry the higher priced bikes like Santa Cruz, Intense, and Scott. But they also carry more affordable bikes like Haro, KHS, And Felt. Basicly they have bikes from $300 to $6000. If you can't find yhe one for you it won't be because they didn't try. I noticed one guy said he went in to buy a wheel and didn't get the attention he wanted because the sales person was trying to help 4 or 5 people at the same time, While the mechanics were working on bikes. I wonder if he would have been happy if he was waiting on his bike to be fixxed and it didn't get done cause the mechanic was waiting on customers. Theres a reason the shop is so busy.....Its that good!

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: This shop is the closest bike shop to Bent Creek, which makes it convenient for the mountain bikers who frequent that area. They seem to have a decent selection of decent quality bikes, parts, and accessories. Customer Service: Terrible. I went in there looking for a set of wheels, I had done some research on the wheels I wanted, and I heard that these guys carried them. While I was in the shop, the guy behind the counter (the owner, I believe) was carrying on sales pitches/conversations/transactions with no less than four customers. He tried to sell me on a set of wheels that were way out of my price range instead of telling me about the wheels I had come in to look at. He seemed to be giving the runaround (trying to sell parts upgrades) to a guy who had brought his bike in for service a week previously. He was also trying to sell a kid's bike to a guy and his daughter, while ushering someone else to the service department and trying to diagnose their problem. There was a guy working in the service department that could have managed at least two of those transactions. I left the shop feeling wholly unsatisfied and have not returned since.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: Great shop with tons of High-Mid and Moderately priced rides and tons and tons on IN STOCK accessories. Also thier prices are level or somtimes lower than the online shops when you factor in shipping. Customer Service: Jason, Marcus and the entire crew at CF are great. These guys remember exactly what bike you bought and personally know your ride right down to the individual components. Best of all you get a no BS assessment of what will work and what wont work for you and your riding type. These guys are not out to sell you the latest GIZMO or push a certin product on you if it will not improve your overall riding experiance. This place is like walking into a biking library and the turn around time on bike service is excellent. I have dropped my bike off at 10AM and had a call at 11:30AM same day to say it was ready. WOW! These guys have a passion for what they do. Im glad I purchased my Intense 5.5 here rather than from an online MEGA-EMPORIUM-WAREHOUSE. I will buy all of my Mountain Biking gear and my next ride here!!! Other Comments: Check this place out next time you are in Asheville. You will not be dissappointed!

Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: Excellent shop with top-of-the-line products and service with the best location in WNC. These guys actually know the difference between VPP, PVP, EVP, and FRO. The guys at other shops in town aren't quiet sure what the difference between carbon and aluminum is. Customer Service: See Jason for the SWEET TWISTED KILLER SMOK'IN DEAL. Check out Marcus for the new "Urban Brokeback" look and daily specials. Nathan, Jimmy, and Randy keep the gears grinding. Bring them a six-pack of their favorite beverage and your bike maintenance request might get added to the top of the list. Other Comments: Try out their night rides, you'll be shaking for a week if you survive. If not, hopefully they will find your body before the bears do.
Also, try to keep up with Nathan on the above mentioned shop ride, you'll have a better chance of meeting the bear mentioned above.

Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: These guys rock! Jason and the guys are as informative and intense as they come. You get charged just being in the store. No one is ever a stranger there. Honest, fair and reasonable business ethics make this the # 1 store in WNC in my opinion. Excellent selection of bikes, clothing and gear. They don't want you as a customer, they want you as a fellow enthusiast! It's their passion and you feel it from them. Stop by; you'll see! Customer Service: Tops! Like I said, no one who walks through the door is ever a stranger. Even if they're in the middle of talking up a ride or a bike to some other customers, you're acknowledged by them as soon as you enter. Other Comments: I think i've said it....
