Shop Summary:
Great range of bikes and gear. Getting back into cycling after taking off a few years to run. They had one of the best selections of bikes in my size range. I had called around Raleigh, Charlotte, Greensboro, Chapel HIll, etc to try and find high end bikes for my size, Atomic Cycles came through for me.

Customer Service:
Very attentive staff and owners. They went the extra mile to ensure I had the right bike and accessories. The staff made the changes to the bike I requested and even delivered the bike to me. Could not ask for better service.

Other Comments:
The owners are really trying to influence the local comunity to be better supporters of the sport. I wish them all the luck and look forward to seeing how they continue to make such a positive impact.

Shop Summary:
The only shop in the Newbern/Havelock dedicated to the enthusiast. I appreciate others loyalty to their favorite shops, but the truth is that AtomIc has forced all the others to elevate their game. Therefore all local cyclists are the winners, not any one shop. I prefer Atomic for their broad selection of quality road and mountain bikes, friendly staff, quick quality service, attention after the sale, shop rides and Specialized brand parts and accessories. Those who prefer triathlon, recumbent bikes and cheap quality kids bikes best look elsewhere.

Customer Service:
Repair service is very good, very fast, and they stand by their work. As for sales the owner Tom Hewitt will show you bikes above and below your price target. Some feel this as a hard sell, but I think he just wants you to see it all before you decide on such a large purchase. No pressure to buy what is in stock, he will order you what you want.

Other Comments:
Initial opening jitters and supply glitches have been sorted out. A real feeling of belonging to a community after the sale. Accessories selection is the best for miles. Brand selection continues to improve with time.

Shop Summary:
Limited selection of gear in stock from helmets to bikes.

Customer Service:
Stopped in to pick up a set of pedals for my new ride, specifically a set of Crank Brothers Mallet 3. They did not have them in stock but said they could order them and have them in 3-5 days. Almost 2 weeks later, I still do not have my pedals and the can't seem to tell me when they'll arrive even though they were supposedly shipped via UPS and therefor easily trackable. I try and support my LBS but I could have purchased these peals online and chosen second day air for delivery and still paid less.

Other Comments:
You are better off ordering online or going to one of the other shops in the area.

Shop Summary:
A great shop with a good selection of bikes and a good layout. They have even worked with me to order items that they don't normally carry and I couldn't get from anywhere else. This shop blows any of the other LBS's around out of the water if you are an enthusiast.

Customer Service:
I have had very positive experiences with them. The owner has always been friendly and he knows me from being there just a few times. Can't complain about the speedy repairs to my bike either!

Shop Summary:
The Atomic Cycle Store is an attractive store near the Trent River. It is an open shop, well planned, very clean and stocked with bike inventory. The shop does not have a large inventory of accessories, but no shops in the area have a large inventory. It is easy to leave and retrieve bikes for repairs. Finally, the hours are very good, and better than any bike shop I have utilized.

Customer Service:
The customer service has been very good for all of my visits. The owners are very personable, responsive, and have gone the extra mile for me including servicing my bike outside, allowing me to have my bike serviced remotely, and giving me complimentary goods to build a loyal buying customer.

Other Comments:
This is the first online review I have ever done. I primarily wrote this review because the other review is so very poor that I felt the owners and the shop have been done a great diservice and because my experience has been consistently very good. The prior review implies that it summarizes the opinion of many people, and that the owners are pushy and greedy. That is not my experience. In fact, I first took my bike to Atomic Cycles the day after it had been serviced by another bike shop to correct a problem the other shop had created. Atomic Cylces completed 30 minutes of work for me free. I encourage other people to form their own opinion as to the quality of Atomic Cycles.
