Biggest selection of Santa Cruz bikes Ive ever seen in my life. They had at least 20 put together on the floor. The guys are great. They talked us through 3 different bikes and let us test ride each one. Not to mention they were all just really cool. Oh, and the other that I mentioned on bikes is Merlin.

Been going to Carolina Fatz for 16 years and love the place.

Customer Service:
The customer service is the BEST, the folks there are so nice and helpful. Jason is the greatest bike shop owner ever!! Would never go anywhere else, they always give me a good deal on equipment, very competitive prices too.

Shop Summary:
Took a Turner Flux in for an overall. Went in with X9 shifters, came home with X5s .No one called to ask if they could put on what ever they had laying around. I had to call twice to see what the hold up was, got the run around. Took over three weeks to get routine work done. Bike did not shift worth a damn. Over $500 dollars later, took the bike home and re-did it myself.

Shop Summary:
The shop looks like a hole in the wall when you drive by. But don't let that keep you from stopping in. They are great bunch of people. They have the perfect location off 191 about a mile from Bent Creek experimental forest. Knowledgeable staff from road biker to mountain biker. Sale Santa Cruz, KHS, Haro, and among others. They have accessories for you and your bike.

Customer Service:
They are very knowledgeable and are there for you and not to make a dollar. Jason the owner is great and makes sure you are happy and comfortable on your ride. They don't just sell you a bike and say good luck, they make sure that it fits you the right way so you can get the most out of it.

Other Comments:
Here's my story of getting my Santa Cruz Superlight. Me and my dad both were looking at getting mountain bikes. We have been renting various brands and decided on Superlights for their simplicity. I was not fond of the 29ers but my dad was. So he got an R-kit 29er in mars orange that they had there already assembled. I was wanting a white 26er r-kit which he didn't have. So he ordered one from me. It took a little longer due to the newer models coming out. When it came it was the wrong kit. He built my bike for me from a kit he had there but guess what the new superlights are going to a tapered head tube for 2013-14. Jason took an 800 dollar fork off his own bike so i would be able to ride this weekend until my fork comes in. Who does that these days. Nobody. Of all the bike shops in the Asheville-Hendersonville area they are the best.

Shop Summary:
The shop people are A+. They will help you anyway they can. If you are looking to get into or already into mountain or road bike riding this is the place. Just tell them what your interest is and they will take it from there. Will give you all kinds of information, what works and what doesn't. Great people.

Customer Service:
If you thought customer service like they give was a thing of the past, you would be wrong. My son and I are getting into mountain bike riding. I got a superlight 29" and my son got a superlight 26" bike. They had mine in stock and had to order my sons. The factory was a little slow about getting my sons in. (next year model change over time). Had been waiting for nearly 2 weeks. Jason was trying his best to get it in so we could go riding over Labor Day weekend since we were both off. Factory sent it 3 day delivery, came in on Friday, but was wrong color and kit. Jason took a floor model he had in the right size and color but not the right kit and made one. The front fork he was expecting to come in didn't make it so he took the front fork off of his personal $4000.00 plus bike to finish the bike until the one ordered comes in. People that's customer service. Jason made sure we were going riding Labor Day weekend.

Shop Summary:
The reality is if you live in the Asheville/Hendersonville area, you’ve got a lot of exceptional bike stores to choose from. That said, among the many kick-ass options vying for your hard-earned dollar I would, without reservation, rank Carolina Fatz first.

Customer Service:
Admittedly, for the most part they’re like most other stores in the area: good selection, more-than-competent mechanics and down to earth prices. Where Carolina Fatz moves ahead of the pack is SERVICE (<-notice the all caps thing?).

These guys were more concerned about dialing my ride than making a buck. That’s rare in today’s economy. Basically they had a bunch of opportunities to charge me for the kinds of things bike shops typically charge people for... and time and time again they chose not to. I mean, by the end, I felt like I was ripping them off. They meticulously fitted my bike (bought from another dealer) for free. They helped me fix my brakes for free. They gave me riding tips for fr- well, normally bike shops don’t charge for riding tips, but it was still pretty cool of them.

Other Comments:
Long story short, these guys are absolute f-ing money. If you’re in the area stop by. You’ll be glad you did.
