Epic Cycles of Black Mountain

Average Rating:    (4.67 of 5)

No. of Reviews: 12

Hardtails, 29ers and full suspension bikes fill the bulk of the shop it's the mountains what can we say. Road and touring bikes cover the rest. We try to keep about 80 bikes in the store built up at all times with another 30 in the back. So you will not have to worry about the typical small town 15-20 bikes on the floor scenario. Shop Summary:
This is where you'll find the friendliest, least pretentious bike assistance in the Asheville area. Allan is always helpful, never forceful. This is a community shop! The fact that it has been going and growing now for over 14 years says a lot about how awesome this place is. The bikes are affordable, the company is great, and Chewy is soft...

Customer Service:
Allan is always smiling and listening to good music. He goes out of his way to be helpful

Shop Summary:
I've purchased two Jamis mountain bikes from Allan H. over the past five years, and both have been great bikes sold at an outstanding price. And the after-purchase support from Allan and his staff is unsurpassed. If you're in the Black Mountain, NC area, and you're interested in bking, you HAVE to stop by to check out Epic Cycles. Be sure to take some time to bond with his great dog Chewy while you're there, too!

Customer Service:
A+ Always friendly and knowledgeable.

Shop Summary:
I started riding in 2007 and although I have purchased from most shops in WNC at one time or another, I always keep coming back to Epic. Al and his staff are the friendliest around - you can't help but feel welcome there, which is most definitely not the case in some other shops.

Customer Service:
Good stock, and if they don't have it, they can get it quick. I have found that prices on full bikes as well as components are unbeatable. They can fix just about anything, and often go above and beyond to do the job right.

Other Comments:
Epic has been an important part of Black Mountain for many years. They have a great reputation among both serious cyclists and those new to the sport. They are charitable as well, having donated bikes to those in need, including a local homeless man.

Shop Summary:
This is an incredibly well stocked store, and what they don't have, they will get for you!

Customer Service:
Allan and his staff have always been friendly and helpful... they've taught me everything I've ever wanted to know about bikes! Allan has gone out of his way to be fair and to give me and everyone I've ever known a great deal.

Other Comments:
This shop is a pillar of the community. They constantly are contributing to local events, whether with merchandise or funding.

Shop Summary:
An employee from Epic cycles tried to sell me a recalled dirt jump frame. Recalled because the frame was breaking off at the head tube causing serious injury to riders. I luckily realized that it was recalled and had him get the free replacement through the manufacturer before buying the frame. Issue number one, secondly the fork was completely blown and when I asked Epic cycles for help to resolve the issue they refused. That's completely dishonest and lazy on their part. I understand that I bought a used bike, but for their employee's to sell recalled and broken parts without disclosing that information is very shady. Not to mention that the owner of the shop doesn't seem to mind.

I recently spoke with the employee who sold me the dirt jump bike and also the owner of Epic Cycles. As things turn out it was basically a lack of communication. Once all parties involved were fully aware of the situation the problem was resolved immediately. Thanks Epic Cycles for fixing the problem.

This is crap. This person got the owner of Epic Cycles involved in a transaction between two people that had nothing to do with this shop. Don't blame Epic for something that they had nothing to do with!
