Shop Summary:
Before I bought my first bike I had poured through multiple reviews of bike shops at which to buy from. I came across a few different articles that referred to Perfomance as having a walmartesque feel to it. After visiting many LBS in the area and conversing with a friend who had done business with performance in the past I decided to pay them a visit. I shopped around for quite sometime without any sales pressure from the employees and asked tons of questions at which they were eager to answer then step back again as I shopped around. I demo'd a few bikes there and then I shopped a few other places and eventually came back to make my purchase. The employees are very laid back but eager to help. I've even been invited out on a few group rides. They may be a chain store but there's a reason they've grown the way they have. I have been using this store ever since my first purchase. They offer lots of knowledge and a large variety with prices, at least what i've found, LBSs can't match.

Shop Summary:
Okay, so it's not a LBS, right? Well, most of the bike shops here in Charlotte seem to have a "stuck-up" feel to them. Like, "Hey, hurry up and buy something or get out of the shop." Almost makes you feel guilty for not buying anything. Everything is WAY overpriced and the selection is never that great. That isn't the case with Performance. They have a huge selection, great prices, and they actually let you look around the store without crawling up your ass or glaring at you. Why should I go to all of the "other" shops? Just to keep them in business? Hell no, that's their own responsibility. Please the customer is what they should do. Going into one of these "other" shops is like going to a car dealership. The sales people steer you in the direction that's best for them, but make it seem like it's best for you. You won't get that at Performance. They will help you, but there is no pressure. And hey, they are nice to you no matter how much money you spend. The "other" shops around here could learn a lesson from them.

Customer Service:
Excellent, and nothing like Wal-Mart. This is a "chain store", but there are a few other shops around here that are too, you just don't know it. The employees at Performance are there for the customer, period.

Tell all of your LBS buddies!

Shop Summary:
This place isnt that bad, every time i have been by they have been really nice and chill. we even hang and eat snickers sometimes. Kate the lead mechanic always answers any questions i have about my bikes. performance does have the reputation of being 'walmart'esqe but everyone goes there for good prices and good merchandise. . . so keep complaining and we can go back to the elitist bike shop paradigm where you have to be fcukin rich to buy anything, otherwise enjoy your local charlotte performance shop, welcoming you to the world where a person from any income bracket can ride a good bike.

Customer Service:
it was great

Shop Summary:
Chain store. Chanin store attitude.

Customer Service:
A couple of generally knowledgeable sales people.
Store management is absolutely awful.

Personal service is non-existant and employee turnover is a problem.

This place is like a Wal-Mart.
I will continue to go there in case of emergency and it's close proximity to my office. Other than that, I will use local shops.

Other Comments:
Punk manager has a real attitude problem.
They do NOT do anything to support local clubs like the local shops do.

It's nothing more than a Wal-Mart of bikes.

If I could rate this shop less than a 1, I would.
