Bio Wheels Workshop

Voted one of "America's Best Bike Shops"

In 1993, our first store opened to serve the cycling needs of Southern Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. It was here that we first implemented our innovative "Interactive Service".

In 1994, we assembled BioWheels Racing. 12 years later, our roster includes over 70 athletes in OH, KY, IN, NC and CO.

In 1996, we simultaneously launched www.biowheels.com and branched south into the Appalachian Mountains by opening BioWheels Touring, based in Asheville, NC.

In 2000, we opened our Asheville Outfitter with complete Sales, Repairs, Rentals and Tours.

2007 promises to be a great year for BioWheels customers . Co-Owners Matt Johnson, Eric Krause & Mitch Graham continue to comb through the industry to find the best values for you in every product category.

Exceptional selection and knowledgeable staff are just 2 of the reasons BioWheels is your
“Complete Bicycle Outfitter ”

SALES Lifetime Tune-Ups, a Free Stem-Swap and Free Lifetime Accessory Installation

REPAIRS: A "Service Consulation" is the first thing a customer notices about our "interactive service" department. We interview the rider and inspect the bike to come up with the perfect solutions appropriate for your needs and budget. If it’s not working right BioWheels can fix it. We have the tools and the experience to get you rolling. We specialize in wheel-building, disc brakes, shocks, restorations, and keeping that commuter bike going. We can normally turn repairs around within 48-hours.
If you like to work on your own bike but don’t have all the tools, BioWheels offers rental workspace so you can do it yourself. 24-hour notice is required, so please call first!

RENTALS: BioWheels’ full line of rental mountain bikes and road bikes are tuned and ready to ride. Whether you’re looking for a singletrack adventure or a cruise around town, Bio Wheels has the perfect bike to fit you. Stop in at BioWheels and let us help you get rolling!

“We want you to fully understand what makes the products that we carry worth the investment. Bikes and accessories must be built to last. For reasons of safety, finite resources, swelling landfills and product accountability, we do not peddle inferior products…
We will not bug you as soon as you walk in the door. Walk around and get comfortable. Aside from an initial greeting, you will be told that when you are ready to talk with an employee, just ask for our help. Once you’ve sought interaction, we may surprise you with how much time and information we will volunteer.”
-BioWheels founder, Matt Johnson, 1994.

Shop Summary:
The shop is very well laid out, Duplex style, with product on the walk-in level and bikes on the lower level. The mechanics are in plain view, set off by a divider wall with a large window. The mechanics are accessible and will discuss repair options with your bike on the stand.

Mountain, Road, Cyclocross, Multisport and Kids bikes at all prices points.

Customer Service:
Service is what sets Biowheels apart from other local and regional bike shops and where the shop truly excels. I have been a customer for over a decade and have willingly parted with large sums of money, and for good reason: Service! Service! Service! You will be treated more as a "client" than a "customer" at Biowheels.

Other Comments:
Biowheels is also a community focused shop, sponsoring and promoting several local races as well as donating thousands of hours to local projects from trail building, trail maintenance, group rides to mechanical workshops.

Shop Summary:
I've lost count of how many bikes I've purchased from BioWheels. I think it's six, two of each, mountain, road and cyclocross. Each bike was priced good and better yet, each bike came with lifetime tune-ups and 6 month stem swap. BioWheels is involved in every facet of cycling in town: the Cincinnati Cycleclub and every type of bike race/ride you can imagine. So, they're a great resource no matter what type of cycling you do. I noticed recently, that they have a nice stable of Triathalon bikes now too and all the goodies for Tri racing.

Customer Service:
Can't beat it. From fixing a flat on a kids huffy to building custom wheels, every customer gets treated right. They take the time to really help you find the right bike or accessory for the type of riding you do. Hands down, the best mechanics in town too. I might stop at another shop for a water bottle or tube in a pinch, but when it comes to somebody wrenching on my bike, BioWheels gets the honors.

Other Comments:
When I first moved to Cincinnati, I called and visited shops to find places to ride and where and when the group rides gathered. BioWheels was the only shop that gave me a warm welcome and good advice. Everytime I popped in, the mechanics and employees would ask how my racing/training was going. BioWheels is about the only shop in Cincinnati that truely takes a personal interest in it's customers. And, that interest trickles down to the simplest of things: getting a good fit, clothing recomendations for your type of riding, or the best type of advice of all...what works best on the trails and roads around Cincinnati. Good local advice and great local people make BioWheels a great show.

Shop Summary:
Great longstanding shop serving greater Cincinnati. The offer a great selection of high-end bikes, parts and apparel and are probably the most active of all shops in the local cycling scene, helping to organize and sponsor the region's best mountain, cyclocross and road events.

Customer Service:
The excellent customer service is what has kept me with Biowheels for the past 5+ years. I had tried a number of different shops in Cincinnati -- most have a roadie bent and snooty attitudes, and look down their noses at unshaven dirt riders. After getting this kind of treatment at three different Cincinnati shops, walking into Biowheels was a breath of fresh air. The mechanics and staff at Biowheels are much more laid back and approachable. Also, amost all of them are active in the local riding scene, which makes them better attuned to the needs of their customers. Also, the turnaround time on mechanical work has been much faster than at other shops.

Other Comments:
Biowheels is hands down the best shop in Cincinnati. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new bike, parts or repairs, or just some simple advice on good local rides.

Shop Summary:
I have been going to Bio Wheels on/off for the last 10 years. They sponsored our cycling team in College, and I have been very pleased with their knowledge of bikes and equipment. The fact that they are members of the local CORA group, work on the trails, and support recreational riders as well as racers, is great!

Customer Service:
Bio Wheels sells quality bikes, parts, and clothes. Their knowledge of equipment, bike fit, and quickness of repairs, makes them one of the best in Cinci.

Other Comments:
Bio Wheels was one of the frist shops in Ohio to host a UCI cyclocross race, and each year step the event up a notch.
