Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: Small place with a bustling atmosphere, cool old road bikes on a rack outside, I assume for sale on consignment, all in a slick little corner location. Customer Service: I'm new to town and the 52x16 I rode on my ss roadie back home doesn't cut it on Portland's hills. Stumbled upon this shop while strolling through Sellwood and they hooked me up with a used 42t ring for $10. Quick service, friendly mech's. Definitely a place I'll go back to if I need any random little parts or service. I even overheard one of the mechanics tell a surprised customer their was no charge for some minor adjustment the guy had made on the cust's bike. Gotta love a place like that!

Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: The best cycling hangout in the best biking city. I've bought and sold many bikes there and listened to and told many stories. The big chair is mine. Erik and Steve and Jeremiah, the latest in a long line of great third guys, keep the right tone whether things are going well or badly on a given day. Pros hang out there, kids and moms feel comfortable coming in off the street, the whole atmosphere is welcoming but never sappy and if you stay there long enough you might get to see Erik chuck the occasional abusive customer out of the shop, a rare pleasure indeed. Customer Service: Democratic, never condescending, they do only the work your bike needs and never what it doesn't. Don't expect exotic fitting services or free espresso, but if you know what you're looking for, even a little, you probably leave satisfied.
