Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: A hug selection of Giant. Customer Service: I have had great cusotmer service with the Portland store on Grand ave. They are very knowledgable and never seem to pressure me into a sale. Easy to get a demo ride (its like pulling teeth at the Bike Gallery to get a demo.) Other Comments: Talk to Harley, he's very knowledgable and helpful.

Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: The Milwaukie store is the closest LBS to my home. I usually only visit because I don't want to drive to the Bike Gallery or I have an urgent need for something and they happen to be on the way to where I am riding. After my last experience, I am reluctant to even give them one more penny of my money even if it means not riding that day. Customer Service: On a good day the service is mediocre. On a bad day the service is surly. Product knowledge is spotty at best. Salesmanship is spotty at best. Inventory is spotty at best. The prevailing attitude is "whatever we have in stock right now is the best there is". I always leave with the feeling that they would do anything to get my money (which usually involves degrading competing products). Other Comments: Of the last 4 bikes I have purchased, I have visited the Milwaukie Bike & Hike first and each time came away with the same question: "Why did I even waste my time?". Every time I am looking at a bike, it is the same thing: "So, you looking to buy today?", "We offer financing.", "What do you think? Will this one do it for you then?". It feels like a haven for retired car sales people. I am just waiting for someone to ask "What will it take to get you on this bicycle today?".
