Bike Shop Owners! We have a new feature we call the Rating Badge. The Rating Badge is a small graphic image (150x58 pixels) that displays your shop's rating and number of reviews on Mtbr.com. You can put it on your website and it allows all your customers to review your shop. It also gives new customers the reviews and validation they need to buy from you. Just cut and paste the HTML code found in the Rating Badge section of your review page. More details about the Rating Badge here»
Peak Sports

Peak Sports is the largest bike shop in town. They deal largely in Specialized and Trek, and less in LeMond, Santa Cruz, and Bianchi.

Shop Summary:
good location. not much for clothing selection. lots of employees.

Customer Service:
so disappointed. i went to this store twice in two says and the customer service was lacking miserably. maybe i just don't fit the bike rider image or something. i was in this store both times for well over 30 minutes and was never approached for help. i even hung out by the counter looking at lights and was never asked if i needed help or had any questions. the first day i did spend over $60 on gear. the second day i went back to get a light and a bike tool. i was looking at the bike tools and the bike tech who was very busy did ask if i needed help this time (much appreciated! thank you!). then again i went to check out the lights. i played with them, looked at them, read info on packages... looked at locks, pumps, helmets and the sale table, and never was asked by any of the men behind the counter if they could help. that is when i realized i could take my money down the street to another local shop. and that is what i did. the light was 5 bucks more there, but the service was excellent. i got the information i wanted to make the right purchase and also supported a smaller shop. i need two new locks and i don't think i'll be leaving my $140 at peak.

Other Comments:
the youngsters on the skateboard side of the store were more welcoming to this 39 year old than the bike side. go figure...

i am giving the technical expertise rating a 3 though i didn't have any work done to my bike so i don't know. give a 3 because the technician was the one and only person who asked if i needed any help even though he was elbows deep in a bike repair. good man! he is also the reason i am giving peak a 2 for customer service. without him it would have been a 1. overall rating gets a 3 because peak has a much bigger selection than the other store down the street.
