Bike Shop Owners! We have a new feature we call the Rating Badge. The Rating Badge is a small graphic image (150x58 pixels) that displays your shop's rating and number of reviews on Mtbr.com. You can put it on your website and it allows all your customers to review your shop. It also gives new customers the reviews and validation they need to buy from you. Just cut and paste the HTML code found in the Rating Badge section of your review page. More details about the Rating Badge here»
Northwest Adventure Cyclery

Conveniently located shop on Galveston on Bend's west side. This shop made it's name on cruisers when they first opened as part of a start-up touring company. Carried the main brands sold from the Pacific Bicycles (Schwinn, GT, Mongoose). Although Schwinn is now owned by the same company that owns Cannondale. Under new ownership (as of 2008?).

Gone.

Customer Service:
Man, I just came back to town for Thanksgiving, decided to tour some of the bike shops and - Bam! NW adventure is long gone. The word on the street is that the place just went downhill fast under the new ownership and the guy quit paying his rent.

Shop Summary:
In a town crowded with bike shops, i'm not sure where this shop fits in. Is this a moto shop or a bike shop? looks like they cater more to the freeride and dh set. They carry speciality gear racks for snowmobiles. first shop we've seen that apparently doesn't care to cater to roadies. from their website: "Accessories we carry for all bikes, except...road bikes, we stay away."

Customer Service:
Friendly.

Other Comments:
GT, Schwinn and Mongoose used to be top brands, but since their acquisition by the Pacific bicycles group, it's been hard to distinguish their independent bike lines from their cheapie dept. store models. They carry Felt, also...how does that work with another Felt dealer in town (Bend Bike 'n' Sport)?
