Hampton Trails Bicycle Shop

Average Rating:    (4.4 of 5)

No. of Reviews: 5

This is a small bike shop that could be easily missed but has some great prices to compete with the internet deals. Has a small selection but can order almost anything. They carry Haro, BMC, Salsa, Litespeed, Santa Cruz, Del Sol, and Masi. He has a tendency to buy up good deals during closeout times so you can normally find a really sweet deal.

Shop Summary:
I had visited this shop often for the past 4 years, enjoying good deals and high quality bikes and components. Unfortunately, one dangerously bad experience with maintenance has soured my opinion of the shop.

Other Comments:
After a bad bike wreck and injury, I brought my 'cross bike to Hampton Trails for a tune up and I specifically asked them to look over the bike for potential problems caused by the wreck. They said the frame looked great and they only needed to true the wheels. Later, before I rode the newly checked bike, I realized that the carbon fork was obviously and dangerously cracked (a 3 inch spider-webbed crack that is unmistakable) and the rear derailleur (which they "adjusted") now dives into the rear spokes and will not shift into the smallest cog.

I am a competent bike mechanic, if a bit slow, and I expect that when I take a bike to the "experts" they will not make newbie mistakes. I was willing to pay for their expertise and experience, but I think from now on, I'll trust no one else with my bikes, and I will certainly not use Hampton Trails again.

Shop Summary:
I usually try to find the best deal I can on things since I am keeping up 3 rides. I have 2 Intense and a Haro and regardless if he carries the bikes or not, he can get what I need. The greatest thing about it is he is a rider and not just a salesguy. Basically you have one guy that owns the shop that does his own sales and shop work. He is very adept at all of the above and the deal's are SWEET! I priced a set of Fox Talas 36 RC2's and he beat even the EBay sellers!

Customer Service:
Friendly and knowledgeable. No matter what you are after he is going to give you the best deal out there!

Shop Summary:
Hampton trails is the best bike shop in upper east tennessee. The shop is small, but packs a lot of biking equipment. Anything you want, Brian can get it. I have been to all the local bike shops in the tri city area and NONE compare to Brian's service, nor can they match his price on anything. He knows what he is talking about and his advice you can take literally without worrying if he is just trying to make a buck. Don't waste your time with other shops, just go to hampton trails and you won't be disappointed.

Customer Service:
AMAZING! i didn't even buy my mtn bike there and he has worked on it many times (without charging). Brian truly understands the meaning of customer service and thats the #1 reason why i get everything i need from him.
