Scott's Bicycle Centre

Average Rating:    (4.67 of 5)

No. of Reviews: 9

Scott's Bicycle Centre is a family business run by (third generation bicycle shop owner) Doug and his younger brother David. This shop (est. 1978) is a full service family bike shop with over 250 new bikes on the floor, including an incredible selection of hardtails and full suspension TREKs and GARY FISHERs.

We also carry an extensive selection of cycling clothing, shoes, light systems, and other accessories too numerous to list. We have demo'd most of our products, so we can also answer questions about how these products perform on the trail.

Zack is the newest member of our team, coming on board with extensive downhill riding experience and a passion for anything on wheels. If you have questions about radical riding, call us and ask for Zack.

We offer 24 hr turn-arounds on 99% of bicycle repairs. We specialize in suspension and disc brake diagnosis/set-up and repair. Our bike fitting department has a great record in diagnosing problems and setting up bicycles for the perfect ride.

We are in our ninth year of organized Tuesday night mountain bike rides on the Tanasi trail system. These rides are described and pictured in detail on our website.

If you are looking for the perfect bike, for the perfect ride, for the perfect experience, then drop by and see us.

Shop Summary:
The guys at Scott's are probably some of the nicest, most personable poeple I have ever met, and that is in general not just at bike shops. The shop is full of bikes, but it is kept in good order so it is easy to see the bikes. Like clockwork, these guys invite anyone who wants to go riding, (whether they buy bikes from them or not) to go out every tuesday night for mountain biking, and thursday night for the road. It's a top notch shop with top notch people. The only thing it lacks is the snobby feel that some other shops have to offer, all riders are welcome at Scott's. As long as I am riding, and their doors are open, they will be the shop I go to.

Customer Service:
These guys know bikes. I don't believe that their is a bike problem that they can't fix, and they fix it fast. Every single time that I have gone in to their shop with a problem, I have left within an hour with my bike fixed. I can't say enough about how much they have helped me out.

Other Comments:
I window shopped for about a year before I finally bought a bike from them. I don't know how much time I wasted for Josh, Zach, and doug, but every time I came in they always helped me with any questions I had. They definately do their best to meet your needs and your budget. If anyone writes a bad review of this shop, then they have never been in it.

Shop Summary:
Dont listen to this cat below! Look at all the reviews and you can tell hes just a basher. Its a great shop, with top notch staff. They have tons of bikes in stock, from your low-end bikes all the way to your high-end. If you want something and they dont have, they are more than willing to try to get it for you. They have group rides during the week, and if you cant make it they're always hitting the trail up during the weekend. Ive been to many shops around the US, these guys know what they doing!

Customer Service:
Great people. They dont push you around and pressure you to buying anything which is a plus! They are very knowledgeable about their products, and can answer just about any question you have. The staff is has a very wide range riding styles also. They ride XC, DH, Urban, you name it they have probably tried it. They arent to shabby of riders either!

Other Comments:
I live out of town, and I'm always making a special trip just to visit. Its a Great Shop with a Great Staff!!! Also if you havent heard about their BlackBear Rampage race its diffently worth looking into. Last year was their first. It was pretty tight, minus the mudd i was picking out every orphues for the next 2 weeks after the ride.

Shop Summary:
Alot of bikes but most are lower end. Not really much for someone into freeride and downhill. But, maybe thats due to them only handling gary fisher and trek. Bought several bikes from them when I was younger but they always seemed to treat me like a dollar sign instead of a person nowadays. Prices are a bit steep. I liked the shop better back in the day, it has become something different with time. You can get alot more for your money from a different shop and a bike company other than gary fisher or trek.

Customer Service:
If you didnt buy it from them then they wont have much to do with you. I Brought a rock shox coupe deluxe in to get new bushing at the time it was on a ellsworth truth and doug said he couldnt get the part since he didnt handle ellsworth, which had nothing to do with a bushing for a rockshox shock. Took the shock by Trailhead and Charles instructed me to call rockshox and they would send it to me free instead of buying it from him had the part in a week and a new respect for Trailhead and lost faith in Scott's.
