Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: Like other reviewers have mentioned this shop is a very casual place to do business. The staff are laid back, helpful and knowledgeable and their service rates are reasonable. Customer Service: The staff seems to understand the importance of treating people right to receive business in the future. Other Comments: Retail prices are a bit much on many accesories but that's the way it is with smaller businesses that don't sell a lot of volume. If it's only a matter of saving a few dollars I'll give them my money as opposed to going somewhere else or ordering online.

Weekend Warrior Shop Summary: Its kinda dark, dusty, smells like rubber. Its a bike shop. Small shop atmosphere...casual, NOT corporate. Customer Service: Its been my experience that bike shop guys in general can either be really sweet, or kinda rude. Its pretty universal. Bike shops usually don't employ the cream of the crop. So, one shouldn't expect the kind of customer service that you get at Starbucks or Dillard's. One might argue that good customer service is the customer's right, but at the end of the day, if you stroll into a bike shop and act like a douche bag, they will treat you like a douche bag. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck....you know. All that being said, these guys are no different. They are knowledgeable and helpful 95% of time time. Labor rates are lower than most places and I have left on more than one occasion with my bike fixed and a "don't worry about it" when I asked for the bill. Other Comments: These guys think farts are the funniest thing ever.

Cross Country Rider Shop Summary: Visited this shop pretty much weekly between 2000 and 2003. I live in another city in Texas now, but have been back half a dozen times or so since. This shop was the only game in town for serious rides, and I don't think any other shop has come along at this time. They carry Specialized, Trek, Bianchi, Orbea, and a few other brands, and have a few used models usually. Lots of gear, good atmosphere. During my time there, the mechanics were excellent. Customer Service: My advice for any serious rider who's going to frequent this shop is 1. make friends 2. be courteous and patient. You'll get treated like the rest of the Baylor dorks for a while but then should get some preferential benefits after a while, especially if you're a committed rider. However, because this is the only real shop in town, be prepared for not-so-nice turnaround times once in a while. Other Comments: I like this shop very much. In my opinion, it measures up in terms of cost, service, and riding spirit against just about all others I've frequented. I've purchased almost all my bikes through Bicycles Outback since 2000, even after I left Waco, and have sent several friends there to purchase bikes.

Racer Shop Summary: Great selection of road and mtb bikes, cool bikes for the kiddos - everything one needs. Customer Service: Cool people. Super knowledgeable. Other Comments: This shop has one of the best mechanics around and is right down the road from Cameron Park - one of the best trails in the state...if not the universe.
